Planning Fiascos When You Close Your Eyes!

Yep. I have read about them and heard about them. Now I am experiencing them. Dreaming about my wedding and it just all goes wrong. LOL!

So last night I dreamed of my wedding. All the guests were there. My FH was there and on time. I was there too in my dress, makeup, hair. All just fine EXCEPT we had to pull a number (i.e. waiting list to be called) to get married and when our turn came up we did not have the license to get married. It seemed like each couple had five minutes to say I Do before you heard someone say "Next!". So in the nick of time someone (I don't know who) showed up with our license but my name was all wrong. My first and last name was fine but my middle name was a hot mess (read like Harry Potter spell). The officiant went ahead and married us but all I kept thinking was who the hell was that on the license that my husband just married! LOL!

So what wedding planning craziness are you experiencing when you close your eyes?

I experience stuff like people getting lost finding the venue, photographers not capturing the moments I want, etc.

I had my first wedding nightmare last night.

In my dream I’m in my pajamas cooking breakfast and the phone keeps ringing. As I make my way toward the phone I see the date on the calendar and it was my wedding day. The person on the phone says im late for my hair and makeup appointment. I freak out because I thought I still had a month left to plan and it’s suddenly wedding day and I didn’t have a cake and I didn’t even realize that the date had arrived. So im trying to get everyone and everything out the door to go get married knowing that my wedding will be a mess.

Hahahah oh no. I dreamt last night that my fiancé and I were married and at the wedding party table I turned to one of my bridesmaids, also my FSIL, and asked where her daughters (ages 1 and 2) were, and she looked at her husband (groomsman) and shrugged and didn’t seem to care lol

I had my first wedding nightmare last night. the wedding was moved up from October to today, but I wasn’t moving to Florida with my husband until October which is when our wedding day is.
People were starting to show up super early, my mom was in a ratty T-shirt & shorts, people were bringing food and setting it on the floor under the table. My aunt was playing the piano and her daughter was in everyone’s face taking photos. My brother was in some random suit and my mom couldn’t find him when it came time to walk down the isle. And my grandma was walking around with a plate of butter trying to warm it up but dripping water all over the floor. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I often have catastrophic dreams involving showing up someplace without the fancy dress I'm supposed to be in, or hair and makeup. It stems from real-life catastrophes from back when I was in the dance and pageant worlds. I STILL dream about leaving my gowns at home--and now I have dreams about having no time to get ready before the wedding, OR the things I need in order to get ready anyway!

I had a getting ready dream last night where my mom was helping me adjust my bra straps before I put on my gown (which is weird because I’ll probably wear a strapless anyway) and kept tightening and tightening but the straps never got any shorter and my bra wouldn’t stay up.

We rented a bus for transportation to get everyone too and from the cabins we are all staying in and the venue. My biggest nightmare is something goes wrong with the bus (we are all out of towners so most people won't have vehicles) and its always something different... mechanical issues, bus crashes before getting to venue, running late, too many people for buses and not enough runs. Its always something. Thats my biggest nightmare I have when I close my eyes and people will miss our big day or my big day will be tainted with something awful. It literally gives me anxiety.

My MOH texted me this morning that SHE'S having wedding nightmares about my wedding. hahahaha. One of them she forgot to write her speech and she asked the best man what his looked like and his was a doodle of a truck with like 3 sentences and she freaked out hahaha

I've had 2 totally opposite dreams about my wedding.

1st I had one where I KNEW I was dreaming but fh insisted that I was not, and that I'd planned this whole wedding and we were getting married in like 1 hour. And I was like UH NO I never would plan this! It drove me crazy. I started calling people and they were like "Haley why are you calling us? We are all in the church waiting?!" Then I insisted that if I were getting married I'd have a pearl necklace on and I did not. So we went to the market out back of the church (which doesn't exist, we are not getting married at a church at all) and the only jewelry they sold was children's beaded jewelry made with like cheap plastic beads and I was just DISTRAUGHT about this hahahaaha

2nd I was totally unprepared and people were walking into the venue (which was somehow simultaneously the hotel where Dirty Dancing was filmed on the outside but my own house on the inside??). The ceremony was at 2:30 and I scheduled hair and makeup for 2:00. Also I had my wedding dress on but totally forgot to get it altered or put a bra on. And then my Grandma came to tell me the bouncers I'd hired were all drink and when I went outside they were actually just very stoned. And somehow I was like "oh it's all good. it'll work out" hahaha
