Find an all inclusive venue. That way, you don't have to find numerous vendors yourself.

It can definitely be done! My wedding is in 11 months and across the country. I just started too but I think after setting a guest list and budget it actually hasn't been too bad. I'm sure when it gets closer it will be a lot more stressful not being there but that's why I'm contemplating an event coordinator. Use WW for vendors. My venue is all inclusive because I was able to find one I liked but now thinking back on it, it wouldn't have been too difficult to just find the different vendors through here, all inclusive is easier for me though. Congrats!!!

We've planned ours in 8 months. It's definitely do-able. Stay focused, don't sweat the small stuff and you'll be fine.

I planned my wedding from MA for PA in eight months. It was stressful and a challenge because I was working multiple jobs, finishing school, and doing my clinicials but I did it!

My biggest tip is to be organized. My DH and I shared a wedding email on Google and we used Google Calendar, Google Sheets, and Google Docs to do a lot of our wedding coordination.

I didn't start planning my wedding until I set the date in March, and even then I didn't do anything else for it till I purchased my dress in May. So if I'm being honest, I crammed all my planning into about 6 months. It's definitely possible!

My best advice would be to do really utilize the checklist on this app. It really saved me on multiple occasions. Also, once you figure out some of your decor, start buying it a little at a time. I've been spending about $200 of every paycheck on wedding decor instead of dropping a grand all at once. It's exciting to start accumulating things that will be around you on the day!

    Good luck!!

It can be done! If it's in your budget a coordinator helps so much! We hired our wedding planner a little over a month ago and I kick myself for not doing it before we started looking at venues!

You can do it!! I live in Maryland and am getting married in PA! That is the nice thing about emails and calls. Everyone is so readily available to answer questions whenever you need!

I've planned a PA wedding from SC starting in January and getting married next weekend! It's doable. My mom and MOH were super helpful with checking things out for me. I booked the venue in February and didn't see it til August! We went there in March and August to meet with vendors and have our pre-wedding parties. Good luck! It's super frustrating sometimes but emails and phone calls are the best way to stay in contact with vendors.

Find a semi inclusive venue. That's what we did and we only had a little less than 9 month long engagement

Where in Ohio are you getting married? I definitely agree with you using an all inclusive venue to help elevate some of that stress.

I planned my wedding myself (no planner) in 7 months and probably had more complicated logistics than an average wedding due to DIY components, making up a guest scavenger hunt and having to write the ceremony script for our first-time officiant.

If you're in central Columbus, I can help you out. But I agree with PP cut your guest list and find an all inclusive venue

You've selected a date that is most important. Set your budget. Start to compile the guest list now so you can determine who you want to invite. Research venues - look for ones that are inclusive - the less you have to do the better. Real flowera are great but fake is more cost effective and can be ordered in advance for bouquets and centerpieces. Enlist the help of BMs when possible and family. Order STDs and invites early. Before you know it, you're done and by pacing yourself you are not overworked.

I found the WeddingWire checklist, timeline and budget tools invaluable. I also used TheKnot planner app which had a more detailed checklist but their deadlines did not seem as practical and their app was buggy.

It can be done! All inclusive would definitely make things easier, but with so much support around since your family lives in Ohio, it can be done either way.
