Place cards or seating chart

Ashley, on January 5, 2020 at 12:00 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14
Which are you doing?

I am thinking of assigning tables but not seats and there isn’t a meal option so should I go seating chart? I don’t have a ton of space in the welcome area so I’m at a loss

Seating chart takes up less space than a table with table cards arranged for guests so I think it's best if you are having a buffet.

Would an 8 x 10 be big enough? Or would I need a bigger one with an easel?

Depends on how many tables and guests you have

8 and 60 guests. I’ll probably just try it out and see how big it looks. I have plenty of time

I personally like escort cards more than seating charts. With the seating chart, I always feel like there is a crowd of people just standing there forever finding their name, while with escorts cards, it always takes me way less time to find my name.

I’d do escort cards. Much easier for everyone!

I personally prefer a seating chart but we’ve decided to go with escort cards because it’s included in the venue package. We would need to pay to have a seating chart made and at this point we’re trying to cut costs when possible without sacrificing a positive guest experience. We’re also having having 150 guests and planning to have couples share one card. I would imagine having 200+ cards would be challenging for guests to go through looking for their table. However it depends on how they’re arranged on the table.

I had a seating chart and then the place card was already at their table

We did escort cards so guests could use them to claim their seats at the tables.

I personally think a seating chart is easier and takes up much less room. I made my with an Etsy template and it didn’t take very long. And I was able to make a few last minute changes because I printed them myself on card stock at hime.

I was also indecisive about this. Most likely going with escort cards. We just felt that guests might forget what table they're at with all the commotion going on and didn't want them to have to keep going to the chart to look at their table number. Also, it kinda of gives them a way to claim their seat at their table already so that no one will accidentally sit in their seat.
