Pizza Station

Christina, on July 12, 2013 at 11:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

So what do you think about a pizza station??

My FH and I love pizza. Everyone in the family loves it too. We are going for a romantic family dinner. Just celebrating family and our love for one another. So not to formal.

I was thinking we could have a variety of sauces and toppings and mini pizza dough's ready to go. And as long as the pizza dough is ready made wouldn't be a super long line of people waiting for a pizza to cook. Let me know your thoughts on the idea and if you have ever seen it done.

    Yes.

Sorry, type that before I read. We did a build your own pizza wedding shower and it was a blast, we just popped 4-5 at a time in the oven, since they were small. My MOH wanted to bake them on a grill, but that didn't work out. You can look at my shower if that'll help give you an idea, if you'd like.

I think waiting for the pizza could be annoying, I'm not going to lie :/. How would they be kept track of? Would I have to cook it or is there someone taking names/orders? Are you renting a portable oven? Would I have to share with mt husband :[?

I love me some pizza, but I'm not sure if this is the best idea for a wedding with so many people & variables :/.

That's a great idea to make it about the two of you! My FH loves pie and wanted to have a groom's pie instead of cake! It took some thinking to pull the idea together but I can't wait to see how it will turn out!

You'll find a way to make it work especially with a smaller group. NO sweat!

Also, I'm now hungry for some pizza at work! So thanks! Smiley winking

Thanks everyone. That's a good point that it could be a little hectic. We are planning on a smaller group and I think I really like the idea as a late snack. Plus im sure I will loose a few later in the night like the kids and great grandparents and such. So that will help a little as well.

Yeah, we had about 20 people at the shower. If you were to do the grill idea like my MOH wanted to do, you could feasibly do 8 or more at a time. If you have a large group, then this becomes more of a logistical nightmare. The pizza oven idea is a good one, though!

I love the pizza idea....Especially for a late night snack. Im sure everyone will work up an appetite from dancing.

The build your own pizza seems a bit complicated, however if your caterer could bring out a few pizza pies an hour and a half before the wedding is over.

I was watching a snippet of Monica (the singers) & Shannon BRown's (NBA Player)wedding. Her husband LOVES Fat Burger...so halfway through the dancing trays of Fat Burger- Burgers were brought out. I thought it was a cool, creative and personal idea.

Here is a clip so that you can see how it was presented. She had a classy wedding and the burgers didnt make her reception seem less than so :-)

I think this would be a super cute idea if you could work it out.

We had a candy bar at our wedding, didn't go over to well, but it was something I was set on doing so we did it.

Now on pinterest you see smores bars and such.

I think since I have like 4 people helping me plan and a couple of them are super organized and creative, I think we can figure it out. Since this is a smaller group I think I will limit it to the more popular toppings and get the pizza oven. We have a rental place in town that we can get one from and my "caterer" is a family friend so I will just have to buy a bunch of starbucks gift cards and bat my eyes a lot lol.
