PIZZA PARTY FOR A NON REHEARSAL DINNER?

Bergkirk, on June 9, 2010 at 8:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 30

Ok...We will not be having a rehearsal the night before, but the morning of.

So the dinner the night before is technically not a rehearsal dinner. I am on a SUPER TIGHT BUGET...I am getting married in New Hope, PA (not close to my home to have a barbeque)...and all the restaurants were super expensive...So I am thinking of having a pizza party at the B&B we are staying at or...a Pasta Party...Any thoughts...Does it sound cheezy? My FH...likes the Pizza Party, however, I am thinking Pasta Party sounds better? UGH!! Would love ANY thoughts...

We're doing the exact same thing! We're doing sort of an open house in the hotel. Guests can just wander down and say hi when they get a chance. It's nice for us bc almost everyone is OOT, and it allows us to visit with everyone in a laid back way. And since we're not advertising it as the rehersal dinner, it doesn't feel tacky to do pizza. It's just an extra little event we're having.

Well, its looking like we are doing burgers.

Long story, but we're doing it at FMIL house. She made ALL the food for her daughters wedding and most of the food for her wedding. BUT when it came to us asking for her assistance, she gave a sob story of having no money and wanting us to take charge and do everything. After FH said that we'd pay as long as she cooked, its now turning into just pasta salad and burgers. Its really frustrating because she has money to go and buy new laptop and a GPS all in same week, but not enough to make a hot pasta dish with some homemade garlic bread.

    SO SORRY FOR THE RANT!

@ Bergkirk - I say if thats what you and FH like than do what makes you happy and what is easiest. I personally think it sounds fine and relaxing.

We are doing a pizza party for our rehearsal dinner at my parents... yeah I like the idea of going out to eat but you never really get to sit and talk to everyone and really have a good time you always feel like your rushed and how do you sit at one end of a table and talk to the others on the other side of the table.. we thought that a pizza party would be more relaxed and we can mingle and talk to everyone and just enjoy our selfs..

I'm actually doing a pizza party and am sooooo excited about it! I want the rehersal dinner to be really relaxed and low key and I think pizza and wine is going to be just that...plus we have a few kids in the wedding party so we figure they'll love the pizza as well. I don't care if it sounds tacky or whatever...it's right for us!

I think a pizza party sounds great, but if you want to have a pasta dish as well, then go for it.

We actually had pizza at my house the night before. We were on a tight budget too. Nobody minded at all and it was a really relaxed atmosphere.

I wouldn't do a pizza party but how about a bunch of different pastas with different sauces and seasoning? Maybe a toss salad and some Italian bread drizzled with butter and oil with a little bit of garlic and Parmesan cheese? Since all of this can be made in bulk it would probably be just as inexpensive Smiley smile You could have like a fun Italian theme playing music and having twinkle lights and wine (if you drink lol) all around the room!!

We are doing a pasta party! We are on a budget also and dont want to do anything too expensive ( everyone will be drinking anyway so its safer to do it at someones house). We were going to do a bbq but our wedding is in March and im afraid it will be too chilly.
