Pizza buffet. Yay or nay?

FUTUREMRSMCG, on February 20, 2016 at 5:06 PM

FH and I were going over our menu options for our venue and there it was, the pizza buffet option. FH lost his mind in excitement because pizza is his favorite 'food group'. So ladies, have you been to a wedding that has done this and how exactly did you feel about it?

I wanted pizza and chicken tenders as the entree for our wedding (super casual). FH and I compromised with chicken tenders as one of the apps and pizza as a late night snack! So I'm 100% in favor of pizza!

We are doing pizza as a late night snack, but we are having a formal (not quite black tie but almost) affair. But I would love to attend a wedding with pizza as the main course, so I say go for it! The only thing to be aware of is allergies, but that really goes for any menu.

I think it's great as long as it's high quality pizza! We're doing it because we're having a pretty casual outdoor wedding. The pizzas are all cooked on site in a wood fired brick oven, they've got incredible toppings, the presentation is beautiful, and I'm super excited about it.

We're also adding salad choices, bread, and a few pasta stations to go with it.

All day every day for pizza! If this was an option at our venue I'd choose it. Who doesn't like pizza...? And if someone says it's not "formal" enough then you need to give them a happy meal and tell that person to feel better and have a good day. Hello has no one ever been to a fancy Italian place, pizza is always on the menu!

Sounds better than traditional wedding food (which normally is not good anyway)

Since it is at McMenamins, you could getaway with pizza. Face it, most of your guests will be drinking McMenamins beers, so pizza is a great match.

If your wedding is casual and informal, a pizza buffet doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Especially since I've now learned its a new food group! :-)

But just as a side note, you can have pizza literally anytime. This is one of the most special days of your life, do you want to celebrate it with something that you can have any old day of the week?

We recently went to a wedding that had pizza as a midnight snack. It was awesome to have food like pizza after people had been drinking and dancing all night... maybe you could do the pizza bar at the end of the night

Maybe as a late night snack or for a rehearsal dinner. 'pizza buffet' for dinner makes me think of cicis, which is not a good thing, lol. and i LOVE pizza.

Yes!! I have a friend in Portland and it was the first place he took me! It felt scandalous to be a teacher drinking in an ex-school but I loved it.
