Pizza buffet. Yay or nay?

FUTUREMRSMCG, on February 20, 2016 at 5:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 44

FH and I were going over our menu options for our venue and there it was, the pizza buffet option. FH lost his mind in excitement because pizza is his favorite 'food group'.

So ladies, have you been to a wedding that has done this and how exactly did you feel about it?

What's the formality of your event? If I got dressed up to come to your wedding I don't know that I'd want to eat pizza with my hands...

I don't think I'd like to be eating pizza in my fancy clothes.

It depends on how formal it is. If it's black tie then nope. Causal then sure!

I did, and it was awesome. Beautiful gourmet pizzas with toppings like crispy pancetta and fried baby artichokes! Delicious! They also had gorgeous salads and mini chicken/eggplants parms. It was so good!

I guess I should have posted a little more information! Sorry! Here's a link to our venue. We're getting married in the courtyard, and having the reception in the gym. Hope that helps?

It's an old elementary school they turned into a hotel with a few pubs on site.

I'd eat pizza in my pajamas or my wedding gown. Nothing gets between me and my pizza.

I would do it as a late night snack but not your meal. I'd look into a meal that has an entree and sides

I checked the pizza buffet menu and it looks great. And even for four choices, the price is really reasonable! If you and FH want it, I'd say go for it, especially since it also comes with antipasto and salad.

Im obsessed with pizza. I would eat no matter what. We are going to do a "flatbread" station during our cocktail hours. It's as close to pizza as I could get lol

I wouldn't do it as a meal option. Not everyone is pizza crazy.

I would LOVE this idea, but maybe as a late night snack.

This was actually my original idea so I say do it! We are going for a more casual feel so it works. It would be out of place if it was black tie.

I wouldn't complain. I would make sure you have a variety of appetizers and sides as well.

In all honesty it would depend on the quality of the pizza as to whether or not I would do it. Are these gourmet artisan pizzas or are these pizza Hut quality?

As someone who can't eat any grains, I would suggest you also offer something that those who can't eat pizza can eat. I would be sad/starving if I went to a wedding and the only food option was pizza.

I agree that it'd be AMAZING if you're doing a late night menu. I'm not sure about it being one of the main food options though.

I would be SO excited if I went to a wedding with pizza. I tried to convince FH it was a good idea to have pizza at ours but he wasn't having it.

I wouldn't mind that at all. We are doing a breakfast buffet. If it is something you like and are interested in, I would jut go for it Smiley smile
