Photographer/videographer wont respond post wedding

Karina, on February 25, 2021 at 4:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Here's the deets:

We had our wedding on October 17th 2020 the photographer said that it would be about 8 weeks for the photos since they were really busy (Contract says up to 6 weeks, but what is another 2 weeks)

- December 18th- 8 weeks came around and we didn't hear anything from them so I reached out via e-mail to see if we could at least see some of the unedited photos, received an email that both of them had covid.

- January 6th- they respond send us a email about how we should have our photos in about a week, and show us our 1 min trailer of the wedding. We chat back and forth about the song in the video and then no response after January 16th

We've tried emailing them a few times to see if everything was ok, or if we could see some of the photos and haven't received a response. They haven't been posting to their social media channels either. Overall I really hope everything is ok and totally understand that people get sick. We really want our wedding photos and at this point don't know what else to do. I looked other places as well, and saw the suggestion to send a legal letter- but they don't have their address listed anywhere D:

any advice would be REALLY appreciated

Write them an email one more time and be courteous yet firm in your demands for your photos and express in detail exactly what you want. If they continue to dodge you, peruse legal options. You are entitled to what is yours especially if you have a contract

That's a good idea I think I'll definitely try that out.

That’s crazy- I’d write them again, be firm, letting them know that you’re entitled to what you paid for & if they refuse, you will have no choice to pursue legal action.

I agree with both PP’ers. I’d give them one last chance. I’d politely let them know that you have been patient for over 4 months now and will not wait any longer. I’d also let them know that if you don’t have the photos and videos you paid for by XXXX date, you will be contacting an attorney.

Now, be prepared to actually do this. I would go ahead and start researching attorneys/legal options so action can be swift.

    Good luck!!!

After you exhaust all avenues of contacting them yourself, get on the phone with the local news station and talk to their consumer reports advocate whose job is act as a mediator before legal action is taken.

Thank you so much for this! It's been a nightmare. I just found out today that they blocked me on Instagram after I tried reaching out to them on there as well.

Did you ever get your pictures? I’m having the same issue right now.
