What would you all do if your photographer LOST all of your wedding photos? It didn't happen to us, but did to our good friend that we were in the wedding. It didn't happen to us, but did to our good friend that we were in the wedding. They chose a $1200 package from a reputable photographer in our area. They ended up spending close to $4000 with her (I have no idea how) and when they scheduled an appt to view and order she told them that she couldn't find their pics. Supposedly if she hasn't found them by today she is refunding there money. But what would you do if you were in her (the bride's) shoes?

Kayla I'm so glad to read this. I'd still want to smack the photographer for putting me through all that. I hope the photos turn out beautifully!

What Celia said. A good photographer doesn't "loose" photos. Can it happen? Yes. How? I don't know. I have FIVE backups of each wedding I've shot. Before I leave the wedding, I back up each memory card on the spot and then again when I get home. Then twice more before I give the images to the client. I would ask her if she has looked in her back up locations and recover the images from there. If not, there are professional data recovery business all throughout the U.S. that can retrieve images (but there are limits).

I'm glad to have read that they were found!

That's great news! The photographer should still offer some kind of compensation for giving them a heart attack.

I'm so happy to read there was a positive outcome at the end! I was getting stressed for the bride. If the photographer did in fact lose the photos then I would expect a full refund to be issued and the photographer should offer to shoot and edit a "day after shoot" with the bride and groom where the can get dressed up and at least get pictures of themselves. I have a friend who didn't receive 1/2 of the photos they took and over 2 years later she still doesn't have them. She still has a hard time talking about it without getting angry or sad. Although I can understand how an SD card, USB, or external hard drive can get corrupted. I've had one just randomly die on my one day. So that's why you need to save all your files on dual devices and in multiple places! But like someone said above, a lot of times even if an external hard drive crashes it can be recovered. And the photographer should pay that cost. That's the gamble you take when you are in the business....

She can sue the photographer if he doesn't have a strict contract. The photographer will have to throw them a wedding and re-shoot the pictures. That sucks! I would be devastated!
