Photo Booth. Yay or Nay

Star, on April 2, 2019 at 12:29 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 53
Do we need them? are there ones we can get for around 300 and under? To rent maybe? Perhaps some alternatives to photo booths...
or are they even necessary.??

We are getting one for a few reasons...they add such a fun touch to a wedding and Give an alternative activity to dancing, and also serve as favors because the guests can take home the souvenirs. We also get a book of everyone’s photo copies and they can write us a message. Ours cost $500 but it is one thing we are splurging on.
Also, I have seen a lot of DIY photo booths and fun things you can do but I didn’t want to have to deal with all that! There’s a bunch of ideas on Pinterest though!

That sounds awesome Beth. I didn't think of all that. I wasn't wanting one but I might be looking into it now. Especially because I'm not gonna have a sign in book.

I say yay if you can afford it. I don’t know how much it costs though. But if it’s not within budget it’s not a necessity. I’ve been to plenty of fun weddings that didn’t have them.

Definitely not a necessity. We decided to not have a photo booth because it wasn't in the budget.

I’ve been to weddings where they set up a DIY photo booth either with a instax camera or to use your own phones. It’s just as fun as weddings with a ‘real’ photo booth Smiley smile

I think photobooths are great because your guests will have photo memories of the event ,but I wouldn’t consider it a must-have. If it’s not in the budget, make/rent a backdrop.I have had just as much fun with the backdrops people made on their own because it had a personal touch. Purchasing a custom Snapchat geo-filter for the wedding is also fun 😊

I would say definitely get a photo booth if you have room in your budget. Our photo booth is included with our DJ and MC package. This adds a nice personal touch with another activity to keep your guests busy. Our DJ is providing us with the magic mirror photo booth.

If you’re on the fence and won’t be sad if you don’t get it, you can also try waiting until closer to your wedding to rent one. We added a photo booth rather last minute and I think they were the only vendor who would negotiate with us! 😂 The nice part about hiring a photo booth is having an attendant to encourage people to use the booth or explain how it works. Not necessary, but I think it helps people use it a little bit more so you’ll have more photos. You can also save on your rate by going all digital. Adding the print strips and memory book adds up!

I think our daughters (who will be 12 and 16 at the wedding) would rebel if we didn’t get one. LOL

Definitely not a necessity but it was one of my must haves. I’m not big on dancing bc I’m super self conscious but I love a photo booth. We have not booked ours yet, but will be in the next month or so. As for prices, I think it all depends on your area. Also, check Groupon, I’ve seen them on there before.

I looked at photo booths but for the more casual type of wedding that I'm having, I decided against it since most people will be taking pictures with their phones during the reception. I hope this helps!

My reception venue works with a photographer, so they were able to get us a photo booth for about $400. They will bring props for it and I was also planning on getting some wedding and Christmas props.

I personally hate the look of the prop photos. I dunno why, it's just not my jam. I love the idea of a photo guest book, though, so we're thinking about maybe setting up a kind of DIY situation with some Polaroids at the front. We'll see what happens, lol.
