Photo booth strip as wedding favor...?

Austin, on July 2, 2014 at 9:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

We're spending a pretty penny on our photo booth for our wedding. It's something that we both have been wanting and feel keeps guests entertained throughout the night. Our vendor allows us to personalize the strip with any background and monogram we want. We can't really agree on a favor that all of our guests will like/use/appreciate so what do you think about us having the photo strip from the photo booth as the favor of the wedding? I am contemplating putting "Be sure to stop by the photo booth to take home a memory of our special day" on the back of their place cards so that each person remembers to do it. I've heard so many horror stories of guests not taking or wasting favors at wedding... i figure this way will be a win-win and in budget. Verses candy people won't eat, or a trinket they will throw away... Opinions please!

I'd love it! I went to a wedding where we got the pictures - which was good - and I went to another one where we didn't get them - that sucked.

I'm doing the same thing. We were going to have one anyway and won 50% off of one at a Bridal show. I'm taking the money we would have spent and buying photostrip frames for them.... its going to double as their escort cards. They'll have a strip with their name and table number on them, with a saying about the photobooth, and once they have their picture in the frame, thats their favor.

We are actually doing something very much the same, except a more old school version, our theme is edwardian/1920s so we are having a paper moon and the photos are the favors!

We're doing the same! Our vendor had frames to sell us that we put our thank you notes into and then the guests can slide their picture on top. We're placing one at every seat.

If we can afford it, we will also have a photo booth to double as a favor.

Love this idea! FH and I went to a wedding last summer where we got to take the pictures home…still have them on the fridge! They're so fun.

That's what we're doing! It's something they'll actually want and keep. It's helping us not spend extra money as well.

We are doing it too!!! I used to be a hostess for a photobooth company, and one thing I noticed about trinket favors was that they were always left behind by the guests. The guests never left their photo strips though!!!

Im doing the same thing, so I think its fine......i am getting the L-shaped frames for the photo strips and they are going to be used as my usher cards as well. I am putting a strip of paper designed with their name and table number and a note on the bottom to stop by the photo booth and take a picture as a memory of our wedding. then i am also using different color writing on the paper to double as help for the waitstaff to figure out which meal they had (black-beef and pink-chicken, or vice versa).....killing 2 birds with 1 stone and making it easy for the waitstaff Smiley smile

Most guests will absolutely love having the photo strip as the favor. Good point about the trinkets being left behind. We have to clean them off of our tables every weekend. The photo strip is something that the guests will be able to keep for a very long time.

Thanks everyone! You have really put my mind at ease. I'm going for the photo strip as the favor and if we have it in the budget later we'll "splurge" on frames for everyone Smiley smile

Yes that is considered a favor! You can always include those clear bookmark things if they are strips if you wanted to give them something to protect it.

That's what we're doing. Our videographer (co-owner of the photo booth) gave us these picture holders for free. A bride whose wedding he shot had extra and gave them to him and he asked us if we wanted them. Uh, yeah. And I ordered these signs that will be at every place setting on the reception tables. I ordered them from a place my videographer referred

My wife and I were married in Jan and she found these frames overseas. As a favor, table decoration, seating assignment, or just a nice message to your guests, these frames were not left behind and its nice visiting friends and family and seeing our frames in their homes or offices. If looking for acrylics, magnets, or something different like black glass or silver aluminum frames for those 2x6 strips, look us up.
