Photo booth? Overdone or still fun??

Thinking about doing a photo booth but I wonder if that is an old trend?? I want to have options for things for my guests to do so they are never bored. We have lawn games already but I want to add something else to do. So yay or nay on the photo booth and I would love to hear any other fun...

Fun! I went to a wedding with FH in December and can honestly say that was my favorite part of their reception...(since I didn't know anyone there!) Haha. So we surely plan to have one, it was so much fun!!

We're doing one because we liked the idea of having it as our favor and guestbook in one.

I have used the photobooth at every wedding i've been to with one. I think its a fun activity for the guests, they get a keepsake and if the attendant makes copies for you that's an added bonus. Our photographer's package includes one and we're thrilled to be having it.

As for lawn games, it depends on the atmosphere of your wedding. If its more formal it might seem strange. While we're having an evening wedding, we are having wine barrels as cocktail tables and corn hole and a giant connect 4 outside on a deck attached to our ballroom that has fire pits and the bar area. Not all of our guests like to dance, and we want them to be entertained rather than just sitting at their tables being bored. I think the theme we're going with fits with having some activities like this.

Still fun! I hadn't seen a photobooth at most of the weddings we went to last year, but then my friends who got married in November had one and I remember what a hit they are! We got some really cute pictures!

    Most people like them.

I am just not into stuff like that. Went to a friends wedding where she had it and it was just distracting everyone. Huge line of people on one side of the ballroom... it was just a hot mess ( then again, there were over 250 guests there! Might be ok with a smaller crowd.)

I'm over the photo booth, but that's just my opinion. I rather put the $800 elsewhere.

    I like them!

That said, if we end up getting one, I will definitely place it near the dance floor. The last wedding I went to, the booth was tucked away in a corner of the ballroom. Guess where everyone hung out all night? It made the dance floor appear empty and the reception less of a party.

I think they are completely tacky and hideous, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun. They just don't fit into my wedding brand, nor do I want to spend that money.

If you have the money though, they are definitely super popular for guests!

I'm over them, and have no desire to have one. I don't know when they became so common at weddings!

In a world where selfie is a word no longer flagged as a typo, I think its a safe bet that most guests will enjoy the photobooth. We're doing one to double as our guestbook.

I am thinking about having one as well. I think it helps people stay occupied and i love that there is an unlimited amount of times they can go in.
