Photo booth? Overdone or still fun??

JJWed2018, on March 15, 2017 at 2:39 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 52

Thinking about doing a photo booth but I wonder if that is an old trend?? I want to have options for things for my guests to do so they are never bored. We have lawn games already but I want to add something else to do. So yay or nay on the photo booth and I would love to hear any other fun suggestions for things to keep guests occupied!

I love them, but they are actually not that popular in my area. I have been to 2 weddings over the last 5 weeks that have had them. and have been to about 12-15 weddings. I think they are fun

Good food, music, and booze will keep your guests occupied.

As for the photo booth. They're nice and fun. If you can afford one, go for it.

Definitely YAY!!! I think it is a great experience for guests and can double as so much- memento for guests, guest book for bride/groom, entertainment for many Smiley smile.

I think they're overdone but also a lot of fun for guests. I just put a deposit down on one today. Mine is including a scrapbook. The photo booth attendant (the photo booth owner) will place their photo strip (it prints 2 so they'll get to keep 1 too) in the book and guests can sign by their photo strip. I went to a wedding in September that had 1. People were in it the whole night, it was a lot of fun. If you can't afford a photo booth, I wouldn't worry about it. Your guests will be plenty entertained by just having a good DJ, booze and good food.

Yes!! They are so much fun in my opinion. My best friend had one at their wedding last January and we spent so much time going back to it and I still have all the photo strips we received. Smiley smile

If you can afford it, I would do it.

I love them, but I LOVE photobooths (FH even proposed to me in one!). We are having one and it is nice because the pictures double as wedding favors for our guests.

I think they're super fun. I just did a wedding that had a professional photo booth and it was a HUGE hit! It was set up in a side room by the bar, and there was a constant line out the door during the reception.

As far as it being trendy: are you ever going to regret fun pictures of your guests?

I'm doing an open air photo booth. I think they're fun.

Lawn games at a wedding? Not so much.

I've never been to a wedding with a photo booth. One tried to but it was just an iPad to take selfies with. Didn't really work. We'll be doing an open air photo booth and I think it'll be a lot of fun.

My FH has this idea to "build" an open-air photobooth by hooking up a digital camera to a button, attaching that to a little computer, and writing a code that has it take a photo, wait several seconds, take another photo, upload the photos to a GoogleDrive on our wedding website, and then print the photos out at a little printer.

So, he built it, and it works! And it's actually so cool.

Overdone. I went to a wedding last year where a table of friends all missed their salad course, because they were in line for the photo booth. The venue cleared them out, even though they could tell people were sitting there.

I'd be questioning the lawn games, not the photo booth.

Photo booths are fun. I don't care if it's overdone, my guests will get fun photo strips and it doubles as a favor!

I asked this very question on my facebook about a week ago and every commenter said they would enjoy one as a guest, even guests who I know have been to weddings with one before. My aunt said her favorite pictures of my late cousin were from a photobooth at a wedding

Overdone but still fun. All of the entertainment I need is booze and music.
