Photo booth for wedding reception

Samantha, on October 15, 2020 at 1:07 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 18
I’m really thinking about getting a photo booth for my wedding next year for my wedding reception. Is anyone getting a photo booth? What do you think about a photo booth at a wedding reception?

We are getting one for ours, too! I’d say if you have the extra money and really want one, go for it. If not, you really don’t need it. We just thought it would be a really fun idea and instead of buying favors they probably don’t want, why not let guests bring home photos?

We’re doing this in lieu of favors (which most people leave behind). Also it gives the guests something to do other than just dance or sit once dinner is over.

They are fun, and we've got some great pics from weddings we've been to that had them, but they *do* take you off the dance floor.

We are getting a photo booth. I feel it will be a good and fun alternative to favors.

We had one at our wedding reception and our guests loved it. I believe every single guest used it from what I recall after seeing all of the photos. We also had a photo book there the guests could glue a copy of their photo to (they received multiple copies) and write a message for us.

Im not doing a photo booth, I really want to but it was just out of our budget. However my cousin had one at her reception and all the guests loved it. Everyone was using it and some people used it more than once. You can even have fun props with it. And they give you a photo album of all the pictures. I think if you can spend the money do it you won't regret it. Like I said I would have definitely had one if only we could afford it.

I think every single wedding I’ve been to for the past 4 years has had one. They are always a crowd pleaser! (Especially once the alcohol starts flowing lol)

Our DJ has an add-on option for a photo booth, but if we do one it will be DIY. We just feel that photo booth rentals in general are waaaay overpriced. So if we DIY it, we're ordering from Etsy or making a life size poloroid picture cutout with our names and wedding date on it with flowers to decorate a corner of the border! You can get cheap props from amazon etc. that are super cute, and your guests can take as many pics as they want!

We also have a wedding hashtag, so our guests can tag us in photos and we can see them all on social media!

These are really popular nowadays, but I've never really been into them. I don't do photobooths normally since I don't really do silly pictures, so we are not having one. Never considered spending the $ on it.

Our DJ company offered one for little cost( comparatively) should we want it. I have done them at other weddings and LOVE that extra little keepsake- I am a HUGE picture person( I model) so I will always say GO FOR IT!! With photo booths or videographers.... lol

We are getting one for sure! The beauty of the company we hired is that they have an add on where you can get a guestbook thrown in. Your guests get two copies of the photos--one for themselves and one for your guestbook, which they can then sign and have fun with. Killing two birds with one stone! I'm excited not to have to gather up props and put up a backdrop and stuff. I think it will be much easier this way.

We are having a brunch wedding, so I thought a photo booth was a good activity for guests in the day time. We ended up booking a photo camper, which is a super cute vintage camper van with a photo booth setup inside.

We wanted a photo booth type thing since we have a wall at our venue that is PERFECT for it, but we didn't like how expensive it was, plus it was digital and there was no attendant. Instead we are DIYing one with a Polaroid camera and each guest gets one picture to take home!

    This is what we got!

We had one and it was lots of fun, our guests loved it! I found a discount on Groupon for a photobooth and booked an inflatable booth with props, an attendant, and a customized print slip for under $350! Definitely look on Groupon for a discount and contact the company to see if they will honor that price. That is what I did and the company said they would honor the price if we paid directly though them so they didn't have Groupon fees, a win-win! Even our videographer got in on the fun!
