Photo booth for small wedding?

tammy, on March 7, 2019 at 6:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

I'm having a 50 person wedding in Mexico. I'm wondering if photo booths are outta style and I should just have Instax polaroids instead? However, reception will be at night, and I'm not sure photos will turn out very well with a polaroid camera. Thoughts either way?

I’m having a photo booth, I think their a lot of fun. I’ve never used Instax before so I can’t speak of the quality.

We are having a photo booth also. We just thought it would be really fun, and the photo strips can be the guests' favors too!

If it had been really expensive, we probably would have skipped it. But it was a small upgrade to our DJ package, and didn't cost very much extra, so we went for it!!

I’m not having one, but I would say it’s still popular.

I think they are still pretty popular and now they are making photo booth buses and different things like that to make them even more modern.

We’re having a photo booth too! It’s going to be one of the mirror photo booths. Instax can be tricky with dark lighting. Have you thought about maybe making you’re own frame for it and having a designated spot for the photo booth? DIY photo booth

Mexico weddings are so much fun - I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding there last summer! You could definitely do Instax polaroids but like you said, it may be pretty dark.

We are going to use the instant camera for our guest book and allow for people to take photos with it to keep. We are having a small wedding, so not going to do a full-blown photobooth but definitely want them to have a keepsake.

We had 40 guests and had a photo booth. It was a huge hit with all our guests all night.

Hey Tammy, did you decide to rent a photobooth? Or are you going the polaroid route instead?

I personally think they are a waste of money - the photos will be so posed and if you have a good photographer they will be getting good shots of your guests dancing anyway! I personally don't go to someone else's wedding to have my photo taken with a silly hat or fake mustache, save your money!

Wanted to follow up. We went with having a few Instax Polaroid cameras out and collected all the photos at the end of the day. I'm glad I did it this way, because guests were able to take photos anywhere they wanted. We had a gorgeous bay setting, so this allowed us to use that to our advantage. Thanks for all the input!
