Philadelphia Area/south Jersey Reception Venues

Julia, on August 21, 2019 at 3:36 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for recommendations on venues in the Philadelphia, South Jersey or Jersey Shore Areas. The venue would need to seat 250 people with dancing. I have a caterer in mind but I'm having trouble finding a place that can accommodate my number and that allows outside catering.
If I go with a venue that has an on-site caterer, I need to keep the cost to under $100 pp.

Thank you in advance! Smiley heart Julia

I was going to recommend The Inn at Salem Country Club but the great room there only holds 125 people.
That was our runner up choice. We ended up having our reception at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro. They were phenomenal!

The Morris Arboretum is right outside Philly is really pretty! We almost booked there but ended up outside the tri-state. The seashell in lbi is nice too!

I’m from South Jersey.... there are a lot of halls to rent in the area (firehouses and whatnot) that could probably accommodate you and your budget. I would check out St. Micheals hall in Gibbstown. I was at an event there once and it seemed really big and was nice, so that may work.

I think indoors - I would be too worried about where 250 people would go if the weather is bad. Also, most outside venues do not supply tables, chairs, etc.

I take dance lessons here on Sunday mornings - the instructor rents out the space. It's such a pretty space. I have no idea about their pricing or catering options, but it's a Philly option to check out: https://www.platformthirty.com/weddings

I will definitely look into it! It seems super convenient having block of rooms right there. Also, not having to book transportation is a plus. Thank you Jennifer!

Oh def and you have gardens all across the street for pictures. Plus they throw in the penthouse for free the night of and you get a super super reduced rate for the penthouse the night before. Let me know if you have any questions. I am so thrilled with the package I got from them.

I second the Morris Arboretum in Philly. It’s a beautiful venue and you can have your cocktail hour in the trees on these beautiful catwalks.

They have very affordable pricing for non-peak days.
