Petite wedding dresses

I am 5’1 and when I went shopping I felt the A line and ball gowns were too swallowing. I went with a mermaid myself and don’t think it makes me shorter at all. I also have 3” heels on in the pic lol

I'm 5'0 as well. I chose an A line just because I liked the silhouette more on my body. I have seen multiple girls wear mermaids and they looked beautiful on them. I think it all depends on the body type and the girls personality.

I have not picked a dress yet but I prefer A line or ballgown although I've been told being 5'1 I'll look like a cupcake. I'm going to try styles that I like and see which one is the most flattering matches me. I don't think a mermaid would be an issue I think it elongates the petite frame more, but it's not what I see myself in for a princess wedding.

Will you be wearing heels? do you like being shorter or do you want to look taller? i’m 5’3 and like being shorter, so i’m just wearing sandals, and i’m definitely going for a mermaid. i say go with what you like best on your body, and whatever makes you feel comfortable!

I am also 5’ even (on a good day lol). I went with an A line just because I tried it on and loved it. I usually prefer mermaid or fit and flare because fuller dresses tend to make me look shorter and wider. As you can see in the pictures I still have to have alterations done but the wedding isn’t until 4/27 next year so we are holding off a bit. I am having it hemmed and the train shortened, as well as adding a corset back and having cups sewn in. Oh another huge plus the dress has pockets how could I say no to that?

I’m 5 feet even! Struggled with the same thing when looking for dresses but I was told that you can wear ANY dress aslong as you pay attention to details and make sure they fit right. Your stylist should be able to advise!

I’m 4’11, my dress is considered a line but I put a ballgown slip under it. On me personally, mermaid dresses just didn’t work with my height but I’ve seen plenty of shirt girls pull them off!

Im 5’1 and had to order it petite. Im odd cause im petite (short) but curvy. I got a ball down and love it. It hasnt been altered yet but the top needs fitted once it comes in

Petite bride here!! (Well former lol) I'm 5 foot flat and 90 pounds, I had a ballgown for my ceremony and a fitted gown for the reception

4'10 here 100lbs.. 😊 I tried ballgown and a line the fabric swallowed me.. this is my second fitting
