Perks of being a bride/groom

Our families have strong personalities. I love telling everyone what to do without any lip. I'm the bride and what I say is LAW!!!!

For me, it's being able to see my dream come alive. But also, getting to go to bridal shows, going wedding shopping, and having everyone gush over my wedding dress and my ring. :-P ;-)

For me, it's seeing FH get all excited about the wedding, or whatever project I bring up to him at the time. He's almost more excited about it than I am, and he looks at it as a day that's supposed to be all about me! (I don't agree with that, but it's something he and I have agreed to disagree about.)

oh, and sex is better and more intimate knowing that we both are in the process of making a commitment to be with each other for the rest of our lives

Knowing I can finally get fat after we're married!! No I'm just kidding... I think.

Everyone is SO NICE to you on your wedding day. Seriously. It was almost annoying haha but it was one of those things that you'll never have again

I wont feel silly dancing no matter how bad I may or may not look

I got to do the traditional wedding show/dress shopping experiences and loved it

I get to have my hair and makeup done!!!!!

Most importantly, my first marriage was a bad choice all the way around and planned in 3 months. I never got to do the things I dreamed of like making up little baskets for the bathroom or gift bags for my ladies. This time around is a dream come true and every step of the way had been exciting and something I will cherish forever.

Oddly, nothing has changed since being engaged. We've been living together for years, so I don't feel "special" because I have a new ring. I'm busy planning things, but I wouldn't say anything is a "perk" because I could do it again (not getting married, but have cake, wear a pretty dress - I do theatre and it could be a costume - go on a trip, have a huge party).

Um, kind of with Erica on this. Maybe that my bridesmaid and mom can't express their annoyance when I send them 15 emails in the same day. Haha!

I feel so much closer to FH since we got engaged... before it was great but now that we've agreed to make that commitment to each other, it just feels more like we are a team and it is super comforting to know that he will always be there and I don't have to worry about it ending (not that it was a big worry before, but when you are just dating it is always a possibility).

And on a more selfish note, we were moved to better seats on a flight after we got engaged because of it... so that was great.

I'm with Erin. We've been together for five year and I didn't think it was possible, but we feel closer to each other. I feel more like a team and I know he agrees.

I take it back - one perk is that my sister is getting excited about something that is happening in my life. She was married first, had a baby first, etc. My wedding is finally an event that is mine!

Aw that's great Erica! It is really nice when people are happy and excited for you.

My mom is so excited for me and so willing to help and that makes me happy

I love all the "mushy" talk between me and FH. He always calls me his future wifey and makes comments about how we only have 8 months to go until we have the same last name.
