Yes I’m the girl who will be on her period on her wedding day! Fml! Any suggestions for extra protection for my gown?

Oh nooo :/ I'm so worried this is going to happen to me too!! I plan on wearing my diva cup and probably panty liner or light pad as a "just in case" back up! What style dress do you have? Is it tight fitting at the bottom?

Menstrual cup all the way girl. I've used them for years and never had a problem with them. Plus they can safely (and without risk of leaking) be worn for 12 hours so you don't have to worry about changing things out while in your dress.

Tampon or menstrual cup or the such as well as a panty liner maybe? How form fitting is your dress?

If it's not a form fitting dress a big pad.
There's also peroid underpants designed to absorb everything!

I like to wear Thinx underwear. It is designed to be worn alone and can absorb a certain amount of fluid, but I wear it with a pad. It's good at catching leaks and spills. It's available online. I suggest you avoid the ones with the lace because they keep ripping on me. The regular banded ones are fine.

I'd also invest in a Bridal Buddy, it's an underskirt with a drawstring that keeps your dress tucked away and protected while you go potty.

    Good luck!

Are you on combination birth control pills? You could start your next pack and skip the placebo pills, and you can skip your period. That’s what I’m doing. Talk to your doctor though to make sure you are ok to do it.

Call your OBGYN if your willing to take a medication to delay your period. I've been looking into it since I will have my period as well on my wedding day. I have an appointment with my Gyno to discuss the prescription and if it's right for me on August 14th. Norethisterone is the name of the medication if you want to look into it.

I’m doing the same thing! My period tracker is telling me already that it’ll start the day before the wedding. 🙄 I’m skipping my period with my birth control because I literally do not have time for all that. 😂

I got mine two days before my wedding and it was fine. I wore a tampon and liner. Not a big deal at all. It’ll all be fine, whatever you decide to do.

There are things that you can do to slow things down (maybe even keep it from happening)... you might check with you Gynecologist...

I love Thinx period underwear! They’d be a great backup method for extra protection for your dress.

I actually just did this recently ( last month to be exact) for my cousin's destination wedding I didn't want to be on my period at her wedding so I skipped my last row of pills ( ones I would take the week of my period) and started a new pack, with no side affects at that time. I got my period a week earlier this month but clearly because I took that first week of pills a week earlier and my period this month has been a lot lighter. But like others said it's probably better to check with your doctor before doing it.

I have a couple of pairs that I use strictly as backup since the first couple of days are SO heavy and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I am not normally someone who recommends things but I will talk about these all day! I haven't been brave enough yet to go just straight THINX but as backup its 100%. I have a pair of the lace thong and a pair of briefs. I like the extra stretch in the band of the lace thong and have not had the tearing issue you have but I like the briefs too. I just got a pair of the new "air" bikini for sports but I haven't tried them yet.

I'm on a 3 month cycle all continously to minimize migraines. You can always time in well but start as early as possible because it can take a month or two for your body to adjust. 4 periods a year is the way to go! If you cant, go with the menstrual cup with a backup panti liner

This is why I'm glad I got an IUD! I haven't had a period in almost a year since getting it and I am protected from unwanted pregnancy for five years!

Period underwear is great! I usually wear a pad or a tampon with it as well, and then have the underwear on too for extra protection. I use Sustain Natural brand though (for the underwear and pads/tampons). Look them up online, they use all natural ingredients, they’re great!

If you do try to skip your period by starting a new pack of pills, know that it doesn't always work. That just happened to me. But on the brightside, my cycle is off by a week so it works anyway.
