Perfect Wedding Day Lips!

Krystal, on February 19, 2017 at 1:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

Hello! I don't typically wear lipsticks, but I feel as if I should to complete my look for the wedding day. If I usually wear something, I go toward glosses. With all of our photos and kissing my husband all night, I want something that won't rub off, and will last!! Any ladies have any good suggestions?? Oh, and my lips are often dry, so I was hoping for something hydrating. Any ideas? Thanks ladies!!!

I'm obsessed with Besame lipsticks - they're vintage colors and last really well.

I suggest a lip scrub and chapstick for the dryness. I use a homemade one of brown sugar and honey. I rub it on for a minute or two, then scrub it off with my toothbrush. As for the chapstick, I put it on in the morning, before I put on lipstick, and before bed.

I don't recommend a gloss because (a) I reapply those more than lipsticks and (b) flashback in photographs.

I think your best bet would be a liquid lipstick. They go on like a gloss, but set like a lipstick.

My recommendation would be NYX's Liquid Suede line or, if you want to splurge a little, Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. She just released six new shades that are mostly pinks and nudes.

I've also heard Wet N' Wild put out a long-lasting lipstick, but I can't recall the name. I've heard good things about it on here, though!

Lime Light's Enduring Lip Colors--Wedding Cupcake. It's $20, like a gloss with sparkles. It lasts for several hours without transferring.

I don't wear lipstick and I definitely won't be wearing it on my wedding day! I don't think it's necessary to complete my makeup.

From a fellow dry-lipped person, i dont recommend liquid lipstick. The staying power is amazing, but it highlights dry lips in a very unflattering way.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color lasts pretty well. I've been experimenting with the colors to find a good wedding Color

If your ok with more of the pink and nude colors, I suggest Too Faced Melted Matte lipstick. It lasts all day and goes on like a lip gloss and dries matte. I've never loved any lipstick more

I agree with @silverlava about the dryness

I don't wear lipstick or gloss but when I want some color I use a lip stain and put chapstick over it for a subtle effect.

I love lipsticks and have been searching for some that don't rub off while eating. I have found a few that work very well.

Kat vonD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is great, lasts a long time and doesn't come off, but it's matte and does tend to dry out the lips. If you sample this one, let it dry before you decide on the color; the wet shade is drastically different from dry.

Sephora make the longest lasting lip color I've tried and it still feels creamy while you're wearing it. It's the cream lip stain collection. There are about 40 shades to choose from and it's only $14. Highly recommend this one.

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks (not the liquid formulation) are stunning and feel moist while wearing, and they last pretty well all day, but not as well as the Sephora brand one.

For guaranteed all-day wear without fading, I would try the Sephora Cream Lip Stain with Vice on top. That's what I wear daily, so I don't have to touch up for 8 hours or so, even with meals.

Bite Beauty make a Multistick that is supposed to last, but rubs off. BareMinerals Gen Nude feels rich and creamy, but doesn't last very long. Ciaté London Liquid Velvet rubs off onto everything.

I don't do lipstick. If I wear anything for date night it is lip gloss. I attended a bridal show where I discovered lipsense. Let me tell you I love it. I got coral reef. It goes on like lip gloss I use 3 coats for the true color I like then a clear gloss over top for the shine. Best decision I have ever made. It last forever.

For my wedding I used a lip stain and it was the BEST decision I could have made. The base color will not fade or wear off and you can layer chapstick or a clear gloss in top without a problem!

I second the Too Faced Melted Matte lipstick... It lasts all day even after eating. Try exfoliating your dry lips every night for a couple weeks before your wedding and then put vaseline on them before you go to sleep....that will fix the dryness and make them flawless for your wedding day

I love NYX liquid suede! Also tarte makes fantastic liquid lips. I also have dry lips - I think the best thing you can do is exfoliate and keep your lips moisturized for a few weeks before the wedding. ELF (found at target) has an lip exfoliating lip balm for like $3. It has little scrubby beads in it like an exfoliating body scrub.

I use a soft pink lip stain and just apply chapstick throughout the day. Just do a lip scrub first. It seriously doesn't budge all day and sometimes even the next day. I ordered these on amazon for like $4 and I love them. Took forever to get them though.
