Hi fellow farm/barn brides and grooms,
I'm an NYC bride planning my wedding in PA. Just wondering what your farm venue considers their capacity to be. My venue considers itself an "outdoor venue" and said that they don't really have capacity restrictions outside of their pre-covid capacity limits. My understanding is that venues in PA are at either 25% or 50% depending on if they are indoor or outdoor. Our reception is technically inside the barn (the ceremony and cocktail hour may have to be also if it rains) so it seems to me that it would be an indoor venue at 25% capacity. Of course I'd love it if there were not any restrictions on capacity, but I don't want to invite my whole list if technically that's not allowed. So I guess my confusion/question is the following:
1- I know this is wishful thinking but is it possible that farms/barns have some kind of special consideration and wouldn't have to follow the 25/50% capacity rules?
2- If the reception is inside the barn wouldn't that be 25%, even though my venue is sayin that they are an outdoor venue?
Longing for normal wedding planning stress!!!
