Penises at bachelorette?

May Bride, on April 3, 2016 at 5:43 AM

I'm not at all part of planning my bachelorette but my MOH asked me whether I'd be comfortable with having some "classy penis" at it. As in, she won't be over-the-top but would have some penis-themed games. Deep down I think they would be a lot of silly fun but I'm also scared that people will judge...

Deep down I think they would be a lot of silly fun but I'm also scared that people will judge me or my MOH. My cousins and FH's siblings and cousins will be there. I've only been to two bachelorettes before (FSIL and a cousin--both of which didn't have any penises) so I'm not really sure what the non-tv norm is.

Would you judge someone for having some penises at their bachelorette? Is there such thing as classy penises? Am I going to regret making this thread?

As far as I can guess (based on things my MOH has said), I think the plan is to have a stand-up comedian and then follow it up with cocktails and games.

Thanks for all help and well-deserved mocking!

I don't honestly get the connection between penises and a fun night out with the girls. I mean, penis' (I don't even know the grammatically correct plural, lol.....peni?) in the wild are just not that festive.

But then I don't get the stripper thing either. Like a naked stranger is a great send off before you get married to someone you'll presumably see naked quite a bit?

    I'm so confused.

From what I can get out of my MOH, my bachelorette party will involve plenty of penis, and a stripper. I think its just fun and silly. But if it makes you uncomfortable, you should say no. she did ask you first, which means she wouldnt be offended if you said no.

I don't see the need for them. Yes, they're funny. But why??? It's not a 'losing my virginity' party lol

I threw a party for my sister, there were no penises. Hopefully there will be none at mine. I'm surprised to see so many people here feel the same way.

This gave me a good chuckle and some Sunday morning LOLs!

    Thanks!

    A few things to say...

    @Meetthewolfs That looks disgusting! LOL

@Celia Penises "aren't that festive" hahaha

@Honeybadger A penis coulddd be classed up with a top hat... (or a shoe)

@May Bride I absolutely would not judge, nor do I think they are necessary. As previously mentioned, if you are uncomfortable in the slightest, just say you would rather not. Plastic penises afloat may lead to some childish (albeit funny) jokes, but you can have just a good time without penis as you can with! (hmmm...or can you?)

ALL jokes aside,,,if you're worried, just say you'd rather keep it classy lol

There was a also a good point made about if anyone in the group is a teacher... I would HATE to have pics of that surface where a parent saw. Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned girls night out on the town! - plastic genitalia not included.

eta: I feel like I would have thought plastic penises were hilarious and novel when I was 21. Now.... not so much

I wouldn't judge. It comes with the territory. Having them or not is fine either way.

If you don't want penises don't have them. I am pretty sure there will be penises at mine. I don't think anyone will judge you for it.

I put together welcome bags for my friends bachelorette party in Vegas (coming up so excited) the only penis novelty item is a pack of "pecker" candies. I don't think it has to be rude of over the top!

@Jersey Jen- Your school board must be crazy strict; that barely looks like a penis.

My girls went crazy at a local sex shop and bought everything penis related. It was a lot of fun, but if it's not something youre comfortable with you should speak up now.

My girls had penis straws at mine. It was exactly like you think - lots of silly, ridiculous fun. I'm with Angelina - if you think it'll be fun, go for it! Don't worry about others.

I think that penis decor is trashy. I legit would go home if I was a guest and they had that stuff.

"Classy penis." I'm trying to think of the hashtags that could be used for this event on IG.

    #ClassyPenisBacheloretteParty2016

    #TeamClassyPeen

    #NonClassyPeenNeedNotApply

    #ClassyPeensForEveryone

Also, if you do have a male stripper, put a shoe on his dick and take a picture. The internet needs more shoe peens. #teamshoepeen

I've never been to a bach party with penises, and they are not necessary. And there is no such thing as a classy one. Whether they are included should depend on the type of guests that are invited. If mothers and family/friends are invited that don't appreciated that sort of thing, it would be better to leave it out.

Melanie, it's a lot of districts in NJ. One teacher got fired for a picture of her holding two alcoholic drinks because it gave the impression that she was not drinking responsibly.

So even though that penis cotton candy isn't the most graphic of penises, it would still be bad.

Most often it's the comments or caption that confirm what the image is that gets teachers in trouble.

I think you should do whichever is most comfortable for you. I've hosted ones and been to ones that didn't have them and everyone had a great time. I went to one where they were there and it was way overdone.

I just laughed to myself because I have never actually seen anyone type the plural of penis...

I also have nothing to add to this post
