Past due on wedding photos

Kaitlin, on August 15, 2019 at 6:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
I’ll try and keep this short...
Our wedding was May 26th, and our photographer contract stayed that we could get photos back 6-8 weeks after. It has been almost 12 WEEKS and we haven’t received anything. We have contacted him a few times asking him nicely that we have been waiting patiently and would at least like some sneak peeks. But this guy is being very rude, saying he sent us an email with some and we didn’t get the email. I asked him to please re send and he pretty much told me no.

We are starting to freak out a little, does he even have photos? I have never been pushy up until Sunday when he said he would have them done by the end of last week.
What do I do?!?! He lives in a different state, so it’s not like we can knock on his door demanding them. I don’t want to be rude, or he could not edit our photos, or take even longer for the photo book and prints.
Many advice??

Honestly you might need legal action, he’s not cooperating. I wonder too if he even has them.

Im so sorry you are going through this. I am assuming you signed a contract? It may be time to point out the timeline he stated in it. Send a copy of it, highlighting the portion, along with it.
If this turns into a serious issue of him still not providing within a couple of weeks, Id consult an attorney for a "breach of contract" action.

Agree with pp. It is a breach of contract and that is not okay

I have to agree with PP. if you feel comfortable you can send him a certified letter stating he needs to deliver his product by a certain date (maybe two days from the time of delivery) and that if he doesn’t you will be seeking legal representation

I’m sorry hun. My SiL never got her wedding photos because she used a friend and had no contract. At least you have legal standing to get your photos or at least your money back. I hope it all works out, maybe threatening legal action will light a fire under his butt.

He is in breach of contract. Tell him to either send them or fess up that he doesn’t have them, or you will seek legal action and report him to the Better Business Bureau, which you should do regardless!
