I'm going to give them to a few BM that would wear one. I think they're great! A friend of mine got me one last summer, and I can't believe the use I've gotten out of it.

Pashminas are the perfect wedding accessory, both as a stylish cover-up in the cool of the evening (or aboard the honeymoon cruise) and as a gracious thank-you gift for the bridesmaids. Sunrise Pashmina (www.sunrise-pashmina.com) specializes in custom-designed shawls for brides and their maids. Our quality is absolutely top-notch, our service is personal and attentive, and our prices are very low because you are buying directly from the weavers in Kathmandu, Nepal. Prices are low, too: a fullsize 70% pashmina/30% silk shawl is $95; full-surface embroidery (in your choice of colors) adds only $65. We've got fringed beading (dozens of styles), jacquard, prints, and ombre (two-tone gradient dye). There's a bridal discount for orders over $300: 10% off, free shipping, free brocade totes, free silver and stone earrings and earring purse.

I plan on giving my girls something like that. I had thought a pashmina, but in the weather we'll be at the time of the wedding, they'll need something thicker, so I opted for something like this. It's still a wrap, but warmer Smiley smile

Would *I* wear it? Probably not. But then again, I'm not going to be wearing a wedding *dress* either but instead a pant suit, so that's just me. I do, however, think they're pretty for someone that would like that sort of thing. My FW has worn similar shawls before when she had something strapless on and knew it would be a bit too cold without something to cover her arms. And she looked gorgeous wearing it, so I'd say go for it if you think they'd like it.

Danya - where are you getting those?? My wedding is in January, and I'm having my sister knit the girls shawls. But if there's a way to get them already done that's inexpensive, I'd like to know! Smiley smile

I love them! As an Officiant, I have worn them to several weddings. In some cultures, it is expected that the Wedding Officiant will wear a prayer shawl of some sort.

I love pashmina shawls--I have a bunch of plain ones. I think they'd make a great gift.

Actually, "I" (my mom) found & got cashmere pashmina's for my girls. The girls' are wearing the same color pashmina though. Quick background: my BMs are wearing eggplant & MOH in dark magenta. With that said my BMs are getting a dark magenta pashmina & MOH getting an eggplant pashmina. Make sense??

I received one as a gift and regularly take it to weddings I officiate. Since many of my weddings are outdoors, my pashmina has been used to shade babies from the sun, warm a shivering flower girl, wipe tears from mothers' eyes (and one groom's), shield a bride's maid while "watering a bush", decorate a sand ceremony table, and was once worn by a bride in a thin dress on a very cold and "nippley" day. Pashminas are great to have and a very thougtful gift. I absolutely love mine!

Girls- I am thinking ofitting them myself.... AFTER I learn HOW to LOL

I'm goo ask some ladies at work what the pattern is called or whatever, and see if I can learn how to do it. I only have 4 BMS or so, so I think I can get it done in 9 months Smiley winking

I was planning on just going to Hobby Lobby, get a type of yarn I like, maybe browse through their pattern section and go at it.

I have been looking thoruhg Etsy, but they're like $200 ... not cool. LOL

Rev. Catherine, I once had to use my scarf to cover the open back of a bride's dress (she was a little bit preggers and couldn't close the dress).
