Panties? Are they necessary?

I'm not sure what the general opinion of this is going to be, but I also don't really care.

I'm considering going without panties for a few reasons.
1. Saving time going to the bathroom, because it's got to be a pain in a wedding dress getting your panties off and then back on in the right place.
2. Saving some cash. We all know that undergarments especially good ones are ridiculously expensive.
3. Panties always make these terrible lines on me ever when it's a thong and I'd rather not worry about it in my wedding dress.
4. Not being able to find any of them that I want.
5. I'd have to get white or nude underwear, and I literally would be buying them just for that day which I don't see as worth. I don't ever wear those colors as panties. And if I'm ever in something that would see my other colored underwear through I just don't wear underwear with it.

Anyone else considering this?

Just FYI: As far as thighs rubbing together, I’m a long distance runner with large thighs, and I recently discovered Body Glide. It’s pretty cheap, you can get it on amazon, and it works miracles to prevent chafing! Also it’s not slimy or anything, so it should be comfortable.

I'm thinking of doing this also. When I found my dress you could see my boyshorts (I was trying to not show my butt to the lady helping me try on dresses) so I'm definitely going panty-less. And we aren't doing a garter toss, so no worries about showing anything! Do it girl!

Warning, my friend's bride went without panties and was embarrassed when they did the garter toss. The groom got a little carried away and when he went down for the garter, he flung open her dress only to reveal his bride in full glory to all.

I feel like with every formal dress I have ever worn, it's always one of my main goals to be able to go bra-less. I detest strapless bras. My dress is a mermaid fit with a low back, so I definitely won't need a bra. I do feel like I need some low-power spanx though, if I can find some that don't go higher than the top of the back of my dress.
I say, do whatever you feel most comfortable in! If undergarments bother you, you certainly don't want to be annoyed by them all night.

The last 2 weddings I have been part of neither the bride or bridesmaids have worn panties. It’s cool and makes for a very fun day.

I think I will not wear any underwear under my dress as well… Because when I have to go to the bathroom, I won't have trouble going
