Over wedding planning!

That's super unfortunate but I definitely feel your pain! I've been trying to get in touch with a potential caterer for over almost over a month! Emailed and called but nothing!! Our venue only works exclusively with 2 caterers which is why I'm stressed out about it.

I finally emailed my venue and let them know what's going on. Hopefully they can help me out so we'll see what happens. Are you just googling photographers or is there a specific site you're looking at that lists photographers?

Oh no that's not good! I'm not over wedding planning it hasn't been too bad lately. For a while my mom and I were fighting but we moved past that. We had engagement pictures done last week and the few we have seen look great. The only thing I am really over is my venue coordinator. She is awful to work with, we are trying to give them money to book the venue the day before the actual wedding so we can decorate but apparently they don't want money! My FH is actually dealing with her and her assistant now because I am so fed up. I made my dad promise not to let the coordinator near me on the actual day of the wedding because frustrated and angry is not a good look for wedding day! Is it bad that I hope she is fired before my wedding?

One thing I did was follow a ton of photographers on Facebook to decide and look at their work. I would even reach out to ones that say they are booked and see if they have anyone they can refer you to.

I had this happen to me while trying to find a hair stylist. I am super picky. I finally found a salon I loved. I messaged the girl's page directly - she didn't answer. Waited a couple days and messaged the salon's page (she actually owns the salon so I'm not sure if that one goes directly to her too or what) - she didn't answer. Waited a few more days, messaged her page again - still no answer. A few days after that, messaged the salon again - no answer. Called her salon and left a voicemail, no return call. A week later I called her cell (listed on her page) and left a voicemail, no return call. I emailed her and the salon. After a week and a half of waiting for a response, I decided to give up. Then they finally responded to an email. I emailed back within 10 minutes, and it took a week to get a response. Again, I emailed back immediately and another week went by before I got a response. Emailed back that last time (this was the end of August) and still haven't received a response. You know, I can understand being totally swamped with clients and I can understand it taking a few days because I know some of the busy stylists like to set one day a week aside to answer all messages so it doesn't consume all their time. But this is just ridiculous and so unprofessional. I don't know how they've been voted the best in our area when they can't even respond to inquiries about their service!!! I was so beyond frustrated. I have wanted to throw my hands up and elope so many times during the planning process but I think they made me the maddest. Just no regard for wasting other people's time. I did find someone I like even better to do my hair. But I could've booked her two months ago rather than stressing myself out waiting for this stupid salon to respond because I didn't want to be rude and go with someone else after I had already asked them for info. Lesson learned.

I'm sorry about your coordinator! Its awful working with nasty people! I hope it works out for you! and I have a ton on facebook, either they read my messages and never get back to me, or they are booked, some have gave me numbers of others but they are either booked or read my messages and dont get back to me! I have never been so stressed in my life.

My FH finally got an answer from the assistant today that we are in the book for that day, mind you the assistant said he was going to do this part on Friday or Saturday. But the credit card won't be ran for another day or 2 because he can't do that part (so not the assistant's fault on that part) so the "coordinator" has to. Not sure why it takes 2 days to run a card they have on file but whatever. Have you tried Thumbtrack? I messaged a few officiants on there as well.

Hmm...if you haven't already I would suggest you can also try Bark and Thumbtack! I actually just hired on off of Thumbtack to do our engagement photos in December! Maybe you'll have some luck there.

I completely understand!!!! After I lost my photographer, I find a lady that i really loved. She did amazing photos, and the price was great! I messaged her facebook page, I got a message saying that she was busy and to give her 72 hours to answer! I waited, and waited, a week went by, still nothing! While I was waiting she was posting everyday on her page, still no message. I messaged again!!! I got another message saying she was out of the office until the next day! I waited, still nothing! I waited at least another whole week and messaged again! I got another message saying to give her 72 hours to answer!!! At this point im mad! I message one more time, saying i hope to hear back from her soon! She answer within in 2 seconds. Asking when my wedding was! I told her within 2 seconds, She read my message then nothing! The next day she post a big thing about people not knowing how to quit messaging her a million times! I was really mad! I quit trying. Like i feel if you have a business and want to make money then at least answer people back!

Oh man! This is unfortunate! I am sorry to hear you're going through a rough time!! I haven't run into this yet *cross my fingers", but have you already paid for the photographer or you searching for someone else now?

I’ve been on a break for like two weeks. I have bad anxiety. My wedding is a year away and I keep having nightmares about a wedding gone wrong. I can’t decide on the small things like centerpieces or hairstyles and so I’m stressed and on a hiatus for now. Wish you the best.

I found way better results from calling or emailing rather than messaging on Wedding Wire/The Knot/Facebook. There is nothing wrong with taking a break either! I think focusing on 1 vendor at a time helped me, rather than trying to do photographer & DJ & officiant all at once and getting overwhelmed.

Where are you located? If you're in New York/New Jersey I spoke to a few that I can recommend and were super responsive!

Thank you! We haven't paid him, thank goodness for that because if we would of paid him and then he did what he did, I would of been super mad!! but im looking for a new one now, I just have been having bad luck with them lol I hope you dont run into that problem! i wouldn't wish that on anyone!

I have emailed a lot too! but still nothing. Also i have seen a lot of them dont have numbers to call, which I find weird! I have almost everything booked, just this photographer thing is whats holding me up!
