Outside wedding games?

Emily, on February 3, 2020 at 7:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
So our venue is all outside. I want to make sure there is stuff to do at the reception, is that weird?

Our venue has a volleyball ball net that they have set up and has allowed us to use. Is it weird to have other outside games like corn hole? I just want my guest to be entertained if they don’t want to dance.
Originally wanted my attire to be semi-formal but if I have games, I would make it causal and allow my wedding party to change after the ceremony so they can participate too. Is that fair?
What other games do you suggest or seen at a wedding and really liked?

We are having lawn games like croquet, corn hole, and can jam (a frisbee game) and probably ladder golf.

Horse shoes would also be a good game I think! I think the games is a great idea and very thoughtful. Smiley smile

Corn hole is awesome and seems to be a popular thing to do at a wedding. We're probably going to be doing corn hole and MAYBE the oversized jenga game!! Don't over think it, I'm sure your guests will be entertained.

Look up life size games like twister, checkers, jenga etc... not sure about sports type games as it can be sweaty if you do end up doing semi formal or business casual. Have you considered table games for the lazy ones like me who would rather sit? LOL. Something like Uno or Apples to Apples?

Exactly. Why stand when I do not have to. I usually try to break out the heels for wedding but I just sit and try to look pretty in them lol.

We’re having outdoor games at our wedding, i think it will be fun for our guests! We’re going to have horseshoes, cornhole, giant jenga and kanjam. There’s also pool and darts in our cocktail hour barn 😊

I think outdoor games would be awesome -- especially since you're doing an outdoor reception. Guests will enjoy having other options than dancing Smiley smile
