Outside Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Jakia, on April 30, 2020 at 10:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi Everyone,

Looking for some ideas. For those of you who chose to have an outside wedding ceremony and reception, what kind of place did you have it at? About how much did you spend? How many guests did you have? What did you have in terms of decor? What month did you have it?

We had an outdoor wedding and reception. Our wedding was at a vineyard. The ceremony took place along 2 creeks that run through the vineyard's property and the reception was in an open-air barn in the vineyard. We had 100 guests. We got married in October.

I only had an outdoor ceremony and i didn't really decorate because i had a nice tree there and what not so it felt like i could be minimal with decor.

Ours will be outside this July in Southern California (fingers crossed). We’re getting married at an old house that’s been turned into a museum that is situated on 12 acres of orange trees, a natural wetlands area, and rose garden. In all, our venue was about $5000 for a Saturday wedding (venue only). Right now, we have a large guest list but are expecting some changes to that due to COVID. Decor will mainly be florals and signage.

We're getting married in August in my favorite park. The views are amazing so we are not have much ceremony decor. Just an arch that my dad is making us. The reception is going to be in a barn at the fairgrounds in
a nearby town. Currently there is 160 on our guest list but that may change pending covid restrictions. Our budget is 5000. We have nearly everything we need including vendors and are only about a third of the way through our budget.

We’re having a very intimate wedding with 30 guests so we had to think outside of the box in terms of venues as most wedding venues would only accommodate larger weddings. We’re renting an Airbnb for a few nights so all-in-all it’s around $800 for that and we can have the ceremony on the propert which is on a nice level lawn with lots of mature trees along a river.

Hi - we are this July. 100+ year old 3 story house in the heart of Houston. 2 outdoor gardens, one of which serves as the ceremony site. With 80 guests we are paying $16k for venue, food, open bar up to $3k (then it converts to a tab), dj and servers. Space inside on 1,2,3 floors with bars outside & inside.
