Outside catering venues in New England

Marina, on September 15, 2020 at 7:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know of any venues in RI (preferred), MA, or CT that allow outside catering? I'd really like to be able to provide some food reflective of my/the guests' ethnicity without having to travel too far! Is there a way I could "filter" a venue search list by those that allow this instead of having to manually search through the requirements of each venue? Thanks so much and good luck to everyone!

Are you looking for one that will allow you to make your own food or provide your own caterer? If you are looking for one that will allow you to make your own food, you may have a difficult time finding a venue that will allow this for legal reasons. The only option I see under vendors for filtering is outside vendors, but that would be all vendors not just caterers.

Thanks for the response & bringing that option to my attention! That's still really helpful. And yes, to clarify, I'd be looking to hire an outside caterer that specializes in a certain cuisine.

I would find a caterer or restaurant you’re interested in and ask what venues they’ve worked with in the past.

The Burr Mansion in Fairfield CT allows outside caterers as long as they’re licensed/insured. Not sure if there’s a filter for this website but I just googled it when I was looking at this as an option.

My friends had their reception at the Charles River Museum in Waltham, MA and I made their cake, so I know they allow outside catering. My cousin's ceremony was at Roger Williams Park Zoo. They obviously didn't have catering for the ceremony, but that was the first RI venue I thought of that would probably allow outside catering, so it could be worth looking into. Kelly's suggestion about asking caterers seems like a great idea! Let me know if you need other vendor suggestions. I'm in MA, and I loved mine.

That's definitely going to be easier to find that a place that you'd want to cook your own food for which I highly advise against because of all of the legal things that can happen.
