Outfit Ideas for a Orchard/u-pick Engagement Photo Shoot

You definitely don't have to wear a dress and can do something more casual. I think jeans could totally work especially if that is what you are comfortable in. I would pick something that fits you and the location, so in this case I think jeans would be perfect. You could do jeans and a tshirt with a cute cardigan or a plaid shirt? Not sure how hot it is where you live but you could always tie the plaid shirt around your waist too. If you did want to do something a little nicer, you could try a simple maxi dress maybe with a jean jacket. It would still be on the more casual and comfortable side but still a little more dressed up.

As the pp mentioned, there is nothing that says you have to wear a dress from your engagement photos, especially if they are not something that you would usually be comfortable in! Wearing jeans would be totally appropriate for an orchard so I actually think that that would look great! If you want to be a little bit more dressy than usual, you could go for a more dressy top.
