Outdoor Wedding

Wow that’s gorgeous ! You could always do the ceremony there and the reception at a venue nearby or elsewhere

Our wedding is outside! I think there is definitely more to prep for, but it is so worth is. For example, we have heaters on standby in case the weather drops, and we rented the condo on site in case we needed to move anything indoors. I realize you can't be inside but can you set up a tent? Some of those can be lovely!

I would really try to find another venue. It could be a gorgeous day but if it’s raining and you can’t go inside it’ll be a mess.

In my opinion. Don't let wedding planning stress you out. You're going to face a lot of realities in regards to the price. I strongly suggest opening up your mind to different types of venues. My dream venue was not getting married out of bed and breakfast but I am so excited for that day and a place he found his beautiful and definitely within our price range. You would be surprised at some nice venues that are out there. At the end of the day just remember that the happiest moment of your wedding is going to be marrying your partner not where you had the wedding. Keep searching and I know that you will find something that you may not have been expecting but that will be magical for you.

Oh I feel this. I had a breakdown after the fourth venue mentioned a price way above what we could afford. My parents had to talk me down off the cliff. Anyway, keep looking! Something amazing will pop up. That looks like a vineyard...are there others in the area? Even an hour or so away?

I'd be nervous to have a completely outdoor wedding with no indoor backup plan.

Totally understand how you're feeling, though - I definitely had a few emotional, overwhelmed moments when we were looking for our venue. My dream was a barn wedding... until I found out how expensive they are, and what a logistical nightmare they can be.

When you're looking for a venue (and choosing things for your wedding in general), think about things that are important to you. That may seem obvious, but having clear priorities helps with decision-making.

We ended up with a venue that I never thought I would've considered - a country club. The one we're going with is inclusive -- they're providing the food, alcohol, some of the decorations, have a dedicated wedding coordinator, etc. The other major selling point is that we can do everything there: get ready, have pictures taken, hold the ceremony, do cocktail hour, and host the reception. I wanted something that would be convenient for us and our guests, and I didn't want to have to worry about bringing in my own food or anything (though that can save you money).

Sure, this wasn't my original Pinterest dream wedding vision, but it's going to be beautiful, and the way it should be. All the compromises we've had to make have made the wedding that much more "us."

Our wedding was outdoors and really was not too much work. If you have it in your budget to hire a planner or DOC, I highly recommend it!

In regards to your dream venue not allowing anything inside... that could be a problem if the weather does not cooperate. What would be your back-up plan if it rains? If they don’t allow you to move the wedding inside due to weather, I would keep looking. Good luck!
