Outdoor Wedding in Savannah, GA in December?

Christine, on June 23, 2011 at 3:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

My fiance and I would love to have an outdoor ceremony in Savannah, GA. We've been thinking Spring 2013, but I was wondering if anyone ever does outdoor ceremonies in December? I graduate in December 2012 and would like to be married as soon as possible Smiley smile I'm just not sure if it would be too cold. If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it!

While I can't attest to the weather down there in December I've been to Savannah twice and loved it!

We live NC, and have family in GA-- it does get cold down there! HOWEVER! That doesnt mean you cant have an outdoor ceremony; there are a lot of impoves. you could do to help keep you warm while still keeping it tasteful. Like a red cloak, or something Smiley smile instead of a veil.

Ive seen pics of people doing winter outdoor ceremonies, so dont worry

I love Savannah! That is where we just spent part of our honeymoon. I lived in Northern GA and I know it can get down to about 32 degrees in the winter, but then again, one Christmas I wore shorts. If you don't mind possible 30's then it would be ok. Smiley smile

I live in southern GA and its usually around 65-70 come christmas time. So I don't think too cold. I would do an indoor reception, just incase. Smiley smile

Here in Fla., we frequently get a cold snap the week between Christmas & New Years.

But, you can have those portable kerosene outdoor heaters -- they throw off a lot of heat.

Stumbled upon your post. Did you happen to have your outdoor December wedding? We are planning a rooftop based reception and are concerned about weather in December in Savannah. If you did, did you use anything besides heaters and blankets to warm up guests?
