Outdoor wedding...Can I bustle the train during the ceremony?

Im getting married outside than having a outdoor recption in a outdoor tent. im leaving my train down for the ceremony and bustle it up for the reption. i think it will be fine and wont have a black dirty look to the bottom. bustling usally tucks the train under neath the dress

The under will be dirty but not the outside as long as no one steps on it. So when you bustle it should look the same.

What if you had your MOH hold your train for you?

The way the bustle works, it will be the top of your train, not the part that has been dragging on the dirt/grass that will be visible once you bustle it.

If you bustle it during the ceremony, you might as well not have a train at all.

Get the train trimmed if you don't really have use for it a bustled train during the ceremony might look weird

If your gown is satin or chiffon, keep a few shout wipes or a bottle of oxyclean spray laundry stain remover and a white towel handy. If anything does get on the top part of your gown, that will take it right off. If your gown is silk or taffeta, club soda with a dryer near by is about the only "quick" stain fix. But it usually is just the underside of the train that gets dirty during an outdoor ceremony. Enjoy your special day!

Have the train for the ceremony (Enjoy it, you won't use it any other time) and the bustle will hide any dirt during the reception!

Thanks for the input!! Can I actually ask the MOH to hold the train or would that be funny for her? I have never seen that? Any thoughts?

I wouldn't ask your MOH to do it because she'll have other duties (holding your flowers during the ceremony, maybe holding groom's ring).

You could have a "page" -- usually a young boy who walks behind you holding up your train during the processional and recessional.
