Out of The Box Wedding Ideas During covid 19

Hannah, on May 1, 2020 at 10:47 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 2

Spring/summer brides I want to know what your wedding plans are amidst COVID 19.

To give you context, our original wedding date was supposed to be May 30, 2020. We have postponed for August 22, 2020 but not feeling confident that COVID will clear up by then. On December 15, 2019 amongst our parents/grandparents we decided to elope, as our faith compelled us to do so. We still were planning on having a traditional wedding ceremony and reception in May. We feel very blessed that our faith brought us together, knowing what we know today.

We are having discussion on what we should do moving forward. Things that are important to me is having my dad walk me down the aisle and give me away, and having our family together (in good health).

I’d love to hear any out of the box ideas of how people are celebrating. What do you suggest for bridal showers? Do we wear our wedding bands? Give me all of your ideas. I know there are other brides in the same boat as us. Let’s help each other and support each other in this unknown time. ❤

Thank you in advance. Wishing good health over you all.

We're July 11th and we're proceeding as scheduled.

We're still hosting our welcome party July 10th for the people that do come. We're extremely excited about it as we have another amazing venue to host it in addition to our wedding venue. It's more important for us to be married and share it with whomever can make it. Honestly, that's what's important to us. I don't think COVID-19 is going away anytime soon so we just have to live with it and work with what we got!

We made our welcome party tropical theme with the fusion of the two cultures of our families: Haitian and Peruvian. With everything going on we planned to make the favors masks and small bottles of hand sanitizer (We can't be too cautious).

    Hi Hannah,

Congrats on your marriage - how exciting!!

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your August ceremony on top of planning your big day. eyFYBiGtFgC4Ag-LxBWWMP5UvJmt7cCKk6ZuRGas

I agree with the recommendation above. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️ Other August couples are discussing their COVID-19 concerns here: I need you, August 2020 brides
