Our Wedding on May 16, 2020

Crystal, on March 23, 2020 at 3:06 PM Posted in California Planning 0 6

Good afternoon I was wondering how couples that are getting married in April and in May 2020. How is your venue helping out. With this Covid 19 going around my Venue will not give me a answer not until one month before our wedding. How am i supposed to cancel our Band, Hair and Makeup, DJ, Photographer, Minister, wow the list goes on and on, if my venue does not give me a answer. Then if we come out of quarantine which might not be not until April 19, 2020 how is that enough time for people to get ready. I have has a couple of guest that called me and said even if we are out of quarantine they still will not attend the wedding (due to fear). Thank You

Wedding was April 24th. Postponed until July. Everything was pretty easy to rearrange. Just waiting on make up to verify. Just emails and calls. Not too stressful

I had to reschedule my wedding and all my vendors 3 weeks before my wedding and no issues. My friend had 2 days and she had no issues either. You’ll be fine.

I rescheduled my May 9, 2020 wedding for April 10, 2021 on March 12. We were able to book every vendor for our new date but we def. started early and made the call on our own. I would really recommend making the call yourself so you can plan and not be even more stressed out. Plus then you will have more availability for your vendors and get the day you want.

Ditto to everything above - we rescheduled from May 3, 2020 to May 23, 2021, and all of our vendors were super understanding and supportive.

That sounds really frustrating, Crystal. I believe the venue just doesn't want to commit one way or another since things with this virus are changing every day. Each day there is more information, different rules, etc, and so they are probably waiting as long as they can so they don't guess incorrectly. If it's stressing you out you may want to choose on your own to reschedule, or maybe you can talk to your other vendors in the meantime and ask what their plan is so you're prepared if it is canceled. You might feel better if you can talk to other May couples and share advice and plans - May brides and your plan of action?

Thank you so much for the information, Unfortunately now our wedding coordinator is out of the office. I was sent a email one week ago stating our wedding coordinator Elizabeth checks her email every other day. So here we are one week later and I still have not heard nothing from her. Now our quarantine has been extended to 4/30/2020. At this point I no longer want to work with this venue. I get it, it's a business they need to keep running. The worst part I would like to know how they are keeping their hotel rooms clean. I can not even get none of my questions answered.

    Thank you so much
