Original wedding date is approaching

Jess, on September 14, 2020 at 11:01 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
Our wedding would have been next weekend and I can’t help but feel sad. Even though we already got married in July... it was a beautiful intimate day (we moved up our date since we postponed), but I just keep thinking about all the last minute details I would be working on and getting ready to celebrate with our loved ones. We’re still having our wedding in May 2021, but I can’t find joy in planning anymore. I’m just so anxious thinking we will be in the same situation then. I really hope that feeling passes because I loved planning before Covid. Not looking for advice or anything. Just venting. Thanks for reading. ❤️

Yeah, actually one of my bridesmaids is treating us to a day at an outdoor winery near us! That will definitely help take my mind off of things. Just in my feelings about it all right now haha.

My original wedding date was 9/4/2020 and we postponed back in March to 9/4/2021. It was a beautiful day on 9/4.. like PERFECT weather so naturally I was completely devastated. We took “would-be wedding day” photos to celebrate the day since we never took engagement photos and they came out beautiful. I would suggest you do an activity on the day of. Nothing huge, just a nice activity with the hubby.

I've been going through this same thing. Our original date is September 26th and I get so sad to think I have to wait even longer now to marry my best friend. Although we do believe everything happens for a reason. My fiancé has been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks, so even if we kept our original date who knows what his health would have been like. Plus we discussed it and wanted to celebrate with all our family and friends, not pick and choose only 50. We planned on doing something special together to commemorate the day though.

Our was the 26th as well. I still am in such disbelief that we had to postpone. It's just crazy! But we felt the same way. There's no way we could have narrowed it down to only 50-60 people. I'm sorry to hear about your fiance being sick. Hope he recovers soon!

Thank you! The 26th will always be our date in our hearts. Hopefully May 15th will be just as nice. We have personalized gifts from family and friends with our original date on it and we figured it will be a great conversation piece in the future to tell our story lol
