ordering wedding invitations online ?

christine, on September 11, 2017 at 12:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

Just curious how many of you brides to be have ordered your wedding invitations online, and what experiences, good or bad, have you had. I feel it's better to see and touch them. My daughter is looking at weddingpaperdivas.com and a few others, we're just a little hesitant. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! thanks Smiley smile

I recommend the website vistaprint! I used it for everything from place cards to thank you cards, invitations. They have it all! And at great prices.

Wedding Paper Divas is actually about to go out of business so I'm not sure how much customer service you will get from them. I got my invitations from Minted and LOVE them. I ordered several sample invitations before making a final desicion. Once I placed my order, a proof was prepared for me to approve before printing. I caught an error in this stage that their designers fixed for me before printing. Highly satisfied!

A lot of the sites will send you free samples of the invites before you order from them. I know theamericanwedding.com will send you as many as you want, and usually a 20% coupon for them as well. When you go to order you can change color font etc.

I did WeddingPaperDivas and have been happy with them. Like Asta said you can get a sample pack to get an idea of the colors and paper textures.

Once deciding on a invitation, I'd recommend keeping a note of exactly what you want and then ordering when they have a sale. We got ours heavily discounted this way. The interface can be a bit confusing, particularly if you're ordering a additional pieces like an inner envelope, but if you call they can help walk you through it. Also, if they're not absolutely perfect, just tell them (even if it's not something that bothers you). I mentioned in my feedback that there were some small ink smears on the back of a few invitations and they offered to either reprint or give me an additional 25% off. Since it wasn't enough to really bother me I went for the partial refund.

Order samples! Then you can see it in person first.

I used Tankerville Press, who is on etsy, but I did order a sample first.

I ordered mine from Shutterfly. They turned out great and came super fast! However, I did expect the color to look differently than it actually does look. I wasn't disappointed, though, because they were very affordable!

I ordered RSVPs from Vista Print, but I ordered my invites from a local printing company (they were not fancy and were pretty inexpensive). I think many people order online now though, and many companies offer samples to see what it'd look like before ordering. Another company to check out is BasicInvite.com, they're a lot like Wedding Paper Divas and other online ones. If you use my name -- rachellangerhans -- as a promo/discount code, you can seave 30% and get free shipping :-)

Wedding Paper Divas, is owned by Shutterfly. They are just restructuring their company. They do not want to maintain multiple websites and such.

I used Vista print and I'm really happy. I upgraded the paperweight and paid for upgraded matching envelopes.. Even with postage, I was at about $500 total.

I used Shutterfly (I use it for everything!!). I was happy with my invitations. That being said, I wasn't too hung up on what they looked like, cause, I mean, people are gonna toss them in the trash.

I purchased both my Save the Dates, invitations, and RSVP cards through Shutterfly and I love how everything turned out! Shutterfly often gets deals. For example, my STD's were 40% off. I got my invitations/RSVP's for 20% off because I was cutting it close and wanted to get them in, but the very next day they became 40% off bahaha.

Wanted to give a head's up about Shutterfly. For whatever reason, when you're editing an invitation and click to preview it, it looks kind of...blurry. However, don't let that deter you! I was a little worried about that but after some research, I went through with it and they turned out crystal clear! I just don't understand why the previews look blurry.

We got our STDs on Minted and our actual invites locally. We actually got more of a chance to touch/feel/evaluate the online ones since they will send you samples. We didn't get to see the invites until they were finished; since they were custom, there was nothing on the shelf to look at.

I ordered my STDs from Shutterfly. FYI Wedding Paper Divas was owned by Shutterfly and now they are just moving to Shutterfly's website starting September 13th. They are supposed to have the same stuff, just new web address. I've heard good things about Minted and Vistaprint as well Smiley smile my bff used Wedding paper Divas and loved them!

I ordered my Save the Dates through Vistaprint and they turned out ok, though the color was a little off (it was a picture of FH & I). I ordered my invitations (as a set with RSVP card and additional insert) through David's Bridal and I LOVE the way they turned out. Great customer service and awesome price too, I ordered during a sale

We got a ton of samples before hand.

We ended up going with Magnet Street for the Save the Dates and David's Bridal for the invites.

For us it looks like David's Bridal threw in some additional invites above and beyond the number we ordered.

Our invites were fold and seal (no envelopes, yay!). They turned out really cute and we've gotten a bunch of compliments on them.

We used Vistaprint for our invites, rsvp's and thank you cards. All of them turned out very well. And they weren't expensive at all!
