Opinions on Sunday Weddings

We hadn't gotten as far as planning the food or anything like that so we could still make it like brunch and make it where it doesn't feel like a Saturday night party. Thanks for the advice!

We did our son a Sunday (was cheaper than Fri or Sat at our venue). We had a fantastic turnout, and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I am having a Sunday wedding for that reason. I am Jewish and can't get a rabbi to marry us on Saturday.

I have a sunday wedding. 4pm Ceremony. Sunday weddings are pretty common in my circle though, so people are used to it. It wil be ending at 10pm so people who have to work monday can go home and get some sleep..honestly, who goes to bed before 10???

and Jews don't just "normally not getting married on Shabbat". Its actually forbidden to marry on Shabbat... hence the popular Sunday wedding. Its better than a monday-thursday wedding in my opinion.

I don't see anything wrong with weddings on Sunday. I'll photograph them any day...lol

I would rather a sunday wedding. If i was invited to a wedding that started so late i would not want to go 8 oclock is pj time!

I don't like Sunday weddings, and most people I know would not attend if conflicted with or kept them from attending church

We are having a Sunday wedding and everyone is over the moon about it. But - the ceremony is in the morning and we are serving a brunch menu after cocktail hour. Everything is done by 4 p.m.

Almost everyone in my circle does Sunday weddings too and they always end late. Ours will end at 11pm and will be an hour away from home for most people but people are used to it.

Honestly I went to a wedding this past Monday and I was shocked at how crowded it was and how late everyone stayed for a Monday night reception. That being said, the reception wasn't too far from home (a lot of people came after work), but the ceremony still had a good amount of people as well.

Sunday weddings are ok, nothing different about how you can enjoy yourself. Our culture have christenings that are almost the same crowd and set up as a wedding. Church then party till 1am sometimes 2am. All who could attend a christening can also attend a wedding, so for me not an issue. Have your day when you want, who really wants to come will make it happen. Good luck ok.

@Julie- I go to bed before 10:00pm! And I kind of doubt I'm the only one.
