Open bar??

Has anyone had an open bar? If so, how much did it end up costing. I saw 2,800 for about 170 people which I thought wasn't bad. I'm just curious what everyone else's was

We found a place that offers a basic full bar for $16 pp for 5 hours, including the bartender but not including tax or gratuity.

Our venue builds the open bar into the single per person price for dinner but that the other venues I looked at where the catering and open bar tabs where separate a lot of them were about 20-30$ pp for full open bar. That was in philly/SJ

Ours was built into our pp price but what you have sounds about right from what I remember of other quotes.

I'm with a few other PPs. I wish my bar was $2,800. It's looking like $4000 for my full bar...

Our current estimate is $1100 for 4.5 hours of beer, wine and one signature cocktail for 85 people. This includes everything. It's consumption pricing so anything unopened will be refunded to us. I'd say your price is right in line with that.

I had 50 adults and we did beer and wine. For an wine/beer open bar at our venue, it would have been around $2,800 with the service charge and taxes. We ended up paying just under $1,500 for consumption for 5.5 hours.

Ours is $33/pp for wine, beer, and well drinks for 4 hours. So for 30 people it will be $990 plus tax and tip.

The prices vary for each location. For us near the Chicago area for 150 guest we would have paid $4350. That put us completely out of budget. So we worked out a deal with the venue to have an open bar until 10:30 for half the price.

Our venue has open bar included with the catering price. It is 90 I think (can't remember right now.) Per person.

Our venue requires us to buy our own liquor and use their bartender. Its $700 for the liquor cost, and the bartender is $22/hour plus he has a service charge that is included in the catering fee. The catering fee includes cups, straws, soft drinks, etc mixers, and that not sure how much that is.

We paid $5000 for 100 guests. Your price is a steal!

Sounds about right. For ours it's about 7-8k for 150 people. But that includes food. Most places will have the option of "name brand" and "house" liquors. (I think it's house brand, could be wrong!) The house is usually cheaper.

Our venue does it per person. They include open bar in the price of $80 per person but if you opt to just have beer and wine it is $75 per person.

We are doing a modified open bar. Beer, wine and well drinks only. No top shelf or calls. That would have blown our budget out of the water. Soda, coffee, tea and juices as well.
