Open bar - pay per person or consumption?

Wondering what you're doing... Are you paying by the drink or on a per person basis? This is for people NOT bringing in their own alcohol.

What exactly does by consumption mean? Do you pay the bar tab at the end of the night? We're doing a 2k host bar of beer and wine...once we hit that number we're done

We are having an open bar for the cocktail hour and reception. Our guests are very responsible drinkers, and have all told us they will be utilizing the hotel block we set up. Plus we are providing shuttle service from the reception to the hotel.

My venue she says open bar is included and if i want to remove it to save me money its -5 per person and -3 if i just want beer and wine. I might cut off the whole entire bar so I can add prime rib to my menu. but the open ba ronly and cocktail hour is a good deal too! never though to f that..will be asking

    Lauren,

Consumption = pay per each drink that your guests consume. Eg. $8 per drink.

Per Person - pay a flat rate per head; doesn't matter how many drinks are consumed, it is still the same price per person. Eg. $30 pp.

Kitandkaboodle - I think you missed the question.

One of the venues we were looking at was $80 per person plus an extra charge if you wanted to do a toast. We went with a different location that we could bring our own. I could not allow my parents to pay $20,000 for alcohol.

I would never ever do a cash bar. Not judging anyone.
