My FH family is all Catholic no one said a word till now and FH and I didn't even realize. I don't know what to do now we're 13 days away and I can't change menus now. Is any Catholic can you shed light on how to get this handled?

According to the United States Conference of Bishops, chickens, cows, sheep, pigs, and birds are all considered meat and should be abstained from. Perhaps it is different in different countries.

Did their RSVP have a box to check that said "chicken___ or beef ___" if so, then don't worry it's their fault for not telling you in advance. And especially if they had a vegetarian box to check! catholics know when lent is, it's the same time every year, so I wouldnt worry too much about it. My FH's family is catholic and they break the rules all the time and then just don't eat meat on Monday instead or something like that. Not that all catholics are the same, but it seems like most catholics I know are pretty lax on their rules it's more like "try not to eat meat on Fridays, but if you do it's not the end of the world". but like I said this is who I know and my view, so I'm sure some people here know more strict Catholics in this regard.

As a strict Catholic marrying a strict Catholic, we would just pick the meat out of the pasta unless it's like ground beef. Or we'd just fill up on the vegetarian sides. I've been to my fair share of weddings during lent on Fridays and it's never been a huge deal. We adjust and move on. The fact that you are trying to accomadate your guests in this way is incredibly sweet. If you can get a vegetarian option, fantastic! I'd tell the guest that reached out about it and ask them to spread the word for you to those they know are practicing Catholics.

Instead of the pasta with Italian sausage ask the caterer if they can substitute the sausage with eggplant. If not then the practicing Catholics will pick around the sausage and will be fine with the side dishes that you have.
