Online vs. Paper Invites

I'm totally torn on how to do my invitations. Part of me really loves the idea of my friends and family opening their mail and seeing an elegant invitation with a picture of my fiancé and I, but another part of me thinks online RSVPs would be easier. I feel like online RSVPs aren't as personal....

I feel like online RSVPs aren't as personal. Would anyone be able to go to my website and enter their name to RSVP (I'm using TheKnot as a host site)? Do the guests even check their email?

One big issue is my grandmother - she is not tech savvy and doesn't even have a computer. I'd like to keep all my RSVPs in one place online without having to remember, "Oh yeah! There were those 5 people who can't RSVP online...."

Which did you go with and why?

Paper invites with online RSVPs are fine. Evites are not. Evites often get overlooked or end up in SPAM folders and tend to be a nightmare. They also indicate an EXTREMELY casual (think T-shirt and jeans casual) wedding.

If that's not what you're doing, you need to send out actual invites and just include your wedding website for where to RSVP.

We did paper invites with an online rsvp. We included a phone number for guests who are less tech savvy. We embedded a Google poll into our website (which we made using wix) that automatically creates a spreadsheet with responses.

@Dreamer give me a break. I don't think they're incapable. They're more traditional and my invitations were formal. They appreciated having an envelope to pop in the mail. It comes down to knowing your audience.

I'm traditional and IMO, online invites are way too formal for something as important as a wedding.
