Just Said Yes November 2019

One week till my wedding and i feel horrible!!

BRITTANY, on October 27, 2019 at 7:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
So I'm getting married on the 3rd of November. I have everything but makeup. I am panicking because my friend was supposed to do my makeup can't now so I'm stuck on my own and I don't really wear makeup. She told me things that I need to go buy but I'm broke. I don't get paid till the first of the month and I just feel like no one in my family cares. I haven't found shoes and asked my mom to help me with a $30 pair and she said "go barefoot". Only 4 people from my family has RSVP back to me. This is my first Wedding. I'm 35 and I feel like it's a joke to everyone. It's making me have anxiety about getting married and because no one is reacting in a positive way I'm getting down and out about it. . I'm actually getting depressed. I don't know what to do.

I'm so sorry this is happening. That's all a lot to deal with in a week. But maybe on the bright side - if you don't usually wear makeup, your partner must love how you look without makeup!

I know you might have a vision for how you want to look a little differently just on that day, but on the flip side if you are uncomfortable putting it on and look uncomfortable in your photos, you may be getting a blessing in disguise. We had a friend who got her makeup professionally done for her wedding day. She looked GORGEOUS, but she didn't look like her. So she actually gets a little upset with the pictures because she doesn't really see herself in them she sees this airbrushed lady.

Hope your week gets better. Take a break and a breather today.

    BREATHE.... Repeat.....

    Now here we go:
    1) Head to the local cosmetology school and see what they can do for you for makeup.
    2) Head to Sephora or Ulta and ask, beg- lol, for help the day of- a lot of the girls might be willing to pop by to do it.
    3) Know any teens in your neighborhood or family? They would be thrilled to help!

    Now for shoes:
    1) Head to Ross, Marshell's or TJ Maxx to see what they have.
    2) Look at local thrift and consignment shops. A lot of pretty and lightly used end up there.
    3) Jazz up a pair you own already. Think of it like this: (a) Nobody will really see them, if you've got a long dress & (b) They are already broken in and comfy! And you know how to walk in them, won't slip, etc.

Your mom's comment is rude and hurtful and I am VERY sorry. As I am for lack of RSVP. Those should've been in, if you have a caterer.....

Breathe and know at the end of the day it might not look exactly how you'd envisioned it- but that handsome dude at the end of the aisle is now alllllll yours in marriage!

Breath! I am so sorry you are feeling like this. Weddings can be overwhelming, but they don't have to be. If you're open, try to recognize the things you have control over and let go of the things you can't.

I read an article recently and it said that your guest will say they are excited about your wedding, but most really are not THAT excited. Your wedding day is just that YOUR wedding. All that truly matters is that your future hubby and you are excited. With that said if it does bother you that your closest friends or family aren't excited you may want to chat with them.

As for makeup I like the other post idea of just being yourself and wearing the makeup you would typically wear. Ulta, MAC, and Sephora will typically do your makeup inexpensively for the cost of some makeup. So that could be an option if you don't want to do your own.

As for shoes, no one will really see your shoes unless it's a short dress. Do you have some in your closet that may work or borrow from a friend? Or go try on some now and have them picked out for when you get paid.

Good luck!!! You are going to have a great wedding day.

Omg !!!!! Bless your heart !!! I understand love !!
Wedding planning and the experience of it all was nothing like I expected . So I understand. Some People can be rude, selfish and mean when it comes to this . Block them out the best way possible because you don’t want to look back and be upset that you let someone ruin your experience. No one cares as much as you do for your wedding . Work hard for what you want to do . Do whatever it takes and ignore everyone else . I’m sorry this happening to you!!
