OMG just officially decided that we are switching our wedding dates to 2021! So that means I am a year and 9 months out. It seems so close and I have absolutely NOTHING done yet. I need help asap. What do I plan first??

Don't worry, you have lots of time. Start with your budget and then a guest list. From there, the first things I would recommend booking are your venue and photographer, those often book up to a year in advance!

I agree with Amber....you have plenty of time. I planned my entire wedding in 11 weeks. Budget first then venue.

You have so much time but it never hurts to start your research early. Start thinking about dates, budget, vision and venue. That will give you a bit of direction.

You would be surprised how much time you actually have once you start planning. We had to postpone planning by a few months and are doing everything in about 7 months. As stated above, budget, venue, and guest list. Catering and photography are at the top of the list as well. You always have the forums for advice and suggestions too. Happy planning!

Yes, I agree with the others here. Budget first, then guest list. Often times it is the number of guests that can balloon the cost of a wedding, since 50-60% of your cost is going to be the food/drinks. Once you determine how many guests you can afford to host, then you can start researching venues. You do have lots of time now, and that's a good thing. The more research you can do, the more bargains and deals you can find. Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats! You have plenty of time, but first decide how much you can afford to spend. Do a lot of research to see what things actually cost in your area, because a lot of things cost more than you would expect. Then make your guest list, keep in mind that your biggest cost is going to be people, so think about who you HAVE to have there. Then book a venue, and after that you should book your photographer. These are the most important things.

I'm a year and 8 months out, and all I've done so far is buy the yarn for my first DIY project (House Scarfs for the wedding party, it's HP themed). We have plenty of time Smiley smile no need to stress JUST yet. Figure out a budget and decide what you want in a venue first.

I have just under 2 years until ours! First things, decide on a budget and make your guest list! As of right now I have my venues, and dj! I hope to get the photographer next! My momma knows where she's getting our cake done so I don't have to worry about that. I've started on centerpieces (disney themed - each table based on different movie/character). Some tables I know what I want, others I'm still figuring out. The good thing about having it in 2 years, i feel like the stress level is down, until i get in the planning mood again, and for the big things (venues, dj, photographer) I have time to save money for them and only have to worry about downpayments right now

First off congrats!! Second, I agree with the others budget and guest list. Then I would start researching vendors and locking them in — I was so surprised at how quickly they can book up! You still have a lot of time girl!

You have a ton of time! Start by figuring out your budget and then prioritizing where you want to spend your money. Start looking on pintrist and wedding websites for inspiration. It’s really early to book anything or buy anything. But no reason you can’t get a jump start on your research. Enjoy being engaged, you definitely don’t have to do anything ASAP!
