Officiants, most banquet halls have their own from what i know of old and new weddings of our families

Vincent, on March 2, 2020 at 3:59 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8

Hello. We were under the impression most banquet halls have their own Officiants, much like how Churches and Synagogues have their own Priests and Rabbis. Can someone who has accurate information please let us know so its not something from off the Simpsons when Homer becomes a Minister. Thank you ever so kindly.

I personally haven't heard of banquet halls having their own officiants. I've heard of some venues requiring specific caterers, florists, etc. but never officiants. Maybe it's a regional thing? I would try using the WeddingWire vendor search to find an officiant for hire in your area Smiley smile

I’ve never heard of a non religious venue having their own officiant.

I’ve also never heard of non religious venues having their own. They most likely have vendors they could refer you to though

I have also never heard of this. I even asked my venue (non-religious) for suggestions and they really didn't have any. We talked about using one of my FH's friends, but I wanted to have someone that had a connection to both of us. This also ruled out my childhood pastor, so we ended up finding a church near our house and we both really liked the new pastor and ended up asking him to officiate for us.

I’ve also never heard of this. In fact, most of the venues we had researched had preferred vendor lists but officiants weren’t a part of those lists.

Unless you're getting married at a church or at another religious center, I haven't heard of banquet halls having their own officiant's. If you have a wedding a location that hosts many weddings, there is a chance they may have a list of officiant's that have worked out in the past for previous weddings, but in most cases that isn't likely. Personally, my husband and I had a close friend of ours (who is also a coworker of mine), do our ceremony.

A banquet hall does not provide officiants or anything for the ceremony as they are for receptions only mostly. They provide catering for the reception, and some are just a blank slate to bring in all your own vendors. You can find independent officiants in your area who are professionals using the vendors tab at the top of the page.
