Hi lovely bride to be

With the whole pandemic happening I had to pause my wedding planning due to alot of business closing sadly and I'm freaking out I'm trying to be positive but it's hard and on top of working in the health care industry I'm constantly worrying about my health my family and the wedding is adding to the stress I just dont know what to do do I cancel, do I Reschedule, do I try to do my best and push forward? I just wanted some ideas or to see if anyone who wedding is in October how are you guys handling things

I’m moving forward with mine for now. I’m having a destination wedding in Mexico in October. I watch the news everyday to stay informed. I’m continuing with planning and so are my guests (a lot have booked cheap flights during this time). I’m staying optimistic and will change course if needed when we get closer. Stay safe!

We are 10.10.2020. We’ve been thinking and talking about it a lot the last two days. Especially since our venue requires 180 day notice from the original date to reschedule... which is April 13th.

They said they would be more lax about the policy and if the world is in this situation closer to our date they would revisit the policy. That’s really no clear direction or assurance in my opinion.

We’ve asked some family & friends their thoughts and many say to wait until May (at least) to make a decision. So I’m going to ask the venue if we can revisit in May and go from there.

All of the uncertainty is frustrating to say the least.

    Good luck with your decision!

We're getting married in Jamaica in October and doing a stateside reception in September in Sacramento. All of our vendors were locked in last year including venue so we're just making payments. Wedding/reception dresses already purchased and hanging in my closet. The only thing I'm a little concerned with are bridesmaids dresses and getting them back in time for alterations. But, I'm looking into a private seamstress for that as a plan B.

We’re getting married October 3rd. We booked our vendors just in the nick of time! Like a month before all of this hit.

I’ve been looking at Pinterest a lot getting inspo and I’ve ordered a few things online (accessories & decor items) to push ahead with the planning. I’ve been in contact with both venue and florist about plans and ideas.
We haven’t come up with a plan B yet except with photography for our engagement session. That was planned early on for May but in the event it doesn’t happen our photographer is flexible and willing to make adjustments.
I think it is a little early to worry Just yet. There’s still time and we’re remaining hopeful for everyone’s sake that this will blow over until then.
If not we will have to discuss a plan B and go with the flow.

We’re getting married October 10th, and still planning on getting married that date. Honestly that date is really important to us so regardless of the situation we would get married that day even if it’s not the big celebration and have the party at a later date. But I truly believe everything will be okay by then. We also have all our vendors booked so if I didn’t at this point I would be worried since businesses will be closed for a while. I also have my dress at home, just not altered yet and we have tons of decorations and our wedding band. There are some things like bridesmaids dresses and suits for the men that still need to happen but I have faith things will work out.

My date is set for October 31,2020. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worry about the virus ruining my day but after speaking with my fiancé we have decided to keep the date. If the venue ends up cancelling due to the virus/lockdowns we will still get married on 10/31/2020 just will only have parents and it will take place in my parents back yard. The date is really important to us as well as we have planned for a long time so nothing will stop this wedding for us!

I'm getting married 10.10.20. We have everything locked in with a down payment so we are just making monthly payments now in order to pay everything off. We are both essential workers so we're still getting paychecks. I'm not going to worry about rescheduling right now. Maybe if COVID-19 is still a problem by the end of July we'll start a Plan B.

October is still a ways away. I would continue on as normal and just keep an eye on the situation and stay in contact with your vendors. Hopefully by October, things will have calmed down and you can get married as planned!

Hi Shana! I’m in the exact situation you’re in. I have my dress but haven’t started alterations yet. I don't have my wedding bands yet but all of our bridal party doesn’t have their stuff. 3 out of 6 purchased their dresses and none of the men have their suits yet. We’re having a destination wedding so I’m starting to feel a lil behind. I’m working on what I can from home and hope it all works out when the world opens up again.

Our wedding is in October as well and we are pushing forward. Our plan was always to have a smaller / intimate wedding and assuming the world goes back to "normal" but with social distancing restrictions, this works into our favor. I've reached out to our vendors and so far everyone is hanging in there and all we can do is hope and pray for the best.

I know these time are uncertain and I thank you for all you do in the Health Care industry, we appreciate you. Know that we're in this together and you have an entire support system right here with you.

I'd hold out a little while longer, work with your venue and look for alternate options if you have to.

I am October 18th. Luckily all of my vendors were booked, most things purchased and dress purchased and altered. Really I am just finishing paying people but nothing crazy so luckily the is not affecting me.

We're October 10th. I've kind of come to a halt. Not sure if we should continue purchasing items. I have my dress but not altered. Our cake tasting and bridesmaid dress trials had to be canceled. The baker is making us a take home tasting that I'm picking up on the 6 month mark... bittersweet... been thinking we may have to cut down amount of guests in case they keep a limit on gatherings. Also wondering how the honeymoon will play out. We're supposed to be going to Disney World. Trying to not stress but definitely disappointed.

Our wedding is 10.03.20 and not going to lie i am very nervous absolutely it.
i know it is months away but i am also a healthcare worker (and a realist). In the hospital i work at there are policies in place up until almost the end on July at this point... that also being said things will not go back to normal over night
it will be a very gradual process and though i hate to admit at some point i know october is far away but my wedding will be affected in some way or another.my fiancé and i have been going back and forth and have not made a final decision whether to postpone yet ornot.good luck to all of my october brides and let’s pray by some miracle things go back to normal sooner than predicted!

Our wedding is October 25th and we haven't made any changes yet. I'm staying hopeful that things will be back to normal by then. Luckily we booked our last vendor right before this happened. We also picked the bridesmaids dresses like 2 weeks before everything hit the fan so I'm super thankful I was on top of things. I think us October brides sill have plenty of time and should maybe reevaluate things like July-August.

These were our thoughts today. They aren’t just going to open the flood gates and let things go back to normal right away. The government would be setting themselves up for a repeat. we are wondering if they’ll limit gatherings to 50 or 100 or ??? To limit the exposure. Good luck!

Thank you! I hope everything works out for you as well! We were discussing alternatives tonight... Trying to press on to the best of our abilities. May have to contact a private seamstress vs using David's Bridal. Little things like that keep me from crying 🙃 I can't wait to be married and head off to Disney!
