We have been really blessed with some great vendors who have been willing to work with us a great deal and I needed somewhere to share that, so I thought this would be the place. Our wedding is 10/10 and the state we are getting married in (SC) is starting to open up, but a large share of our guests are traveling, including a bunch from the Northeast where there have been more cases (we are coming from there as well). I decided to reach out to our three vendors (venue, caterer, photographer) to see their thoughts on a possible postponement/holding a new date, and they have been awesome. We now have a backup date of 4/10/21, no trouble, no additional deposits, with as much time to decide as we need. We haven't checked with the bartender or rental company but I don't foresee that being a problem, as the rental company already told us we can postpone for up to a year from our original date. Everything else is either DIY'd or coming from grocery stores (Publix cake, anyone?!) so basically we can sit tight until July, when we were planning to make a call. We might have to decide sooner if someone wants our photographer, but the other two basically said 4/10 was ours if we want it.
I never really understood why people made those Facebook posts with "here is our laundry list of vendors" but after this I am going to be shouting them from the rooftops!!
