October brides- RSVP timeline?

I'm sending mine out August 1 with an RSVP of September 18. Still waiting on a few decorative pieces to add. Hotel block also expires September 18 and gives me 2 weeks to hunt people down in case of no responses.

I have the same wedding date! I am doing the same! I knew my colors and wedding invites from the time i met my FH. I saw these wedding invites before i was even engaged and we had never even talked marriage but i knew he was the one and i knew these invites were the ones and the price so i bought them for my future wedding and bam...i'm using them!

Any advice on hotel block...i haven't done one because my beach house (we live and own it here in FL) doesn't have any hotels nearby, hotels are all 8-10 miles away so i've been encouraging everyone to look into renting beach houses and all getting together and sharing it. I put house rental sites on my wedding website along with hotel information. i want everyone to stay in houses near our beach house because then they won't have to drive or get transportation. we are trying to stay away from renting a bus or transportation. my family all has to travel here (they are coming from MN so i don't even know what family of mine is coming)

With a reply date Sept. 7th, just know that you won't get any mail that day.

We're sending invites mid August and our reply date is 9/21.

Well my answer is going to vary from everyone else because I am that super cautious bride that sent out invitations at the end of May because 90% of my guest are out of state and out of the country. My RSVP date was August 1st. Did that strategically to allow for the fact that we may need to chase people down etc. and since I'm buying decor for my centerpieces, I'd like to know a generally number early rather than later. Lots of my purchases have been online so I'm not taking any chances.

Thanks for all of your feedback! It sounds like everyone has a fairly similar timeline... I'm glad to see that! Do you believe we are at the point where we're sending out invites?? We've had an 18 month engagement so I'm ecstatic to finally at at this point!

Our invites went out a month ago but that was mainly because 80% of our guests are out of towners. The date is 9/4.

We're sending ours out the last week in July/first week in August because we have almost all OOT guests, and our RSVP date is October 1st. Our venue/caterer need the final count 2 weeks before, so that gives us a little time to follow up with people.

We're sending out at the end of July with a Sept 8th.

I'll be sending my invites out first week of August and asking for return by 10/4. Giving me a week to follow up on any floaters before my venue needs the number.

My invitations are ready to go lol. Sending them out first week in August with my RSVP date as 9/2/15. Between both families they are horrible with RSVP'ing. Apparently my mother in law had to call her family for RSVP's for my bridal shower. She told me "I will call my family bc I know they won't call your mom." I can just see it now her calling them for their wedding RSVP's. I have to let my venue know 2 weeks before, so I'm giving myself more time to call people for their RSVP's. So I don't stress.

Sending out invitations late July, RSVP Aug. 25th (about a month out before wedding for caterer).

I think it also depends on if you sent out save the dates - if you did not, then you should send out invites a lot earlier if having out of town guests.

I'm planning to send our invites out as soon as we have all the addresses. Our RSVP date is 9/1. I am SO ANXIOUS to get even a general headcount so I can do more DIY and planning!
