October 3rd Wedding. Should i be concerned about Coronavirus canceling my wedding?

Kelsey, on March 23, 2020 at 1:31 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
I'm an extremely anxious person, and I'm starting to get very worried about my wedding. What is everyone else thinking? Should October be safe to have my wedding? I have all my vendors booked, but I still need to get my dress altered. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to have my wedding and I'm actually losing sleep over it now. I know it sounds crazy, but this is obviously the biggest day of my life.

I would wait to postpone. Seems like this virus should be calmed down around July/August. So you should wait until then to make a decision. Our original date was April 25th and our new date is September 13th and I’m not worried about it.

I would wait too before you make that decision.

Our wedding is October 25th and I think we still have time before making a final decision. I think wait until about July to see where things are at. Try and stay positive 🙂

Hi Kelsey! Thankfully you have a longer timeline, and it sounds like most October brides are holding on to their original plans right now!

No matter when your wedding date - it's totally fair to feel nervous! And you're not alone in those feelings. You can connect with other October couples about their Covid19 concerns in this discussion:

Do you think i should be concerned about my wedding in October?

We're scheduled for 10/9/20 in Jamaica. I'm not the least bit concerned because it's too far out to make a decision or worry about. I honestly feel that this will all blow over before then. I would suggest keeping in touch with your vendors to make sure in the case of having to cancel there's a backup plan.

We're supposed to go to Jamaica for our honeymoon in November! We were worried about even being able to get there haha. I was going to call my venue, but I live in NY and all nonessential business are closed down until further notice, so no one would be there for me to talk to. I'm feeling better about things now, I just have very bad anxiety and when things like this happen I panic

I totally understand how you feel. My original date was March 28th and moved to July 4th and Then moved again to oct 9th. I lost so much sleep also. I just realized after the initial shock and then it happening a couple times there is nothing you can do so try and relax and hopefully this summer things will get better! Good luck, it will all workout.
