Just Said Yes October 2020

My fiancé and I are getting married on October 3, 2020. Our venue has reached out to us and is being very accommodating, and supportive with everything going on right now, basically we were given three options as of right now. We can continue on with our wedding day as originally planned, we can postpone the wedding, or we can cancel and get a refund. My fiancé and I have already decided regardless that we will be getting married that day, even if that means we have a small backyard ceremony. However we are so confused as to what to do? We still have quite a bit to get done, and with everything closed in our state(NY) we aren’t sure we will have enough time to finish the things we needed to do before the wedding as it will all depend on when things open back up. Part of me wants to push the big part of the wedding until next year when things settle down, and the other part of me is sad to give up what I had originally dreamed of and have been planning for almost 2 years. Anyone have any advice? Anyone else getting married the same day? What did you choose? Thank you in advance and thank you for allowing me to vent. This has been a very stressful time for many of us, and this group has been a great support.❤️October 3, 2020 1

I know a lot of people are postponing just because they don’t want to deal with the stress of it all. I’m getting married in December and we figured we will make a decision around the time we would be sending our invitations out (about 2 months before) If this is something you’re willing to do, then I would wait until July/August to make a decision. Good luck!!😊

We’re getting married the same day as you and we’re on the east end of Long Island. I know how crazy it is but as of right now we’re still on. Everything is changing everyday and hopefully with the warmer weather rolling in, it’ll kill the virus off.

Omg your save the date photo is amazing!!
We are getting married October 4, 2020, and have no plans to reschedule again! If our state says we can’t accommodate more than a certain number of people, we’ve accepted it at this point. We’ve been together 7 years, engaged for 1 year, and we wanted to get married quickly (should have been this coming Saturday) but ended up rescheduling for October.
Right now, we are going to see what summer brings, and send out new invites in early August. I think you should wait, and try to keep your date!

We were also suppose to get married 10/3/2020 on Long Island. We decided to move our wedding until next year just because there was a lot that we still had to do and like you said everything is closed and we don't know when it will reopen. We had already sent out our save the dates but will be re-sending these cute "change of plans" cards/emails.

We have been together for 9 years and engaged for 3. We had always planned on a long engagement. Yes I am disappointed but my day will come.

I hope everything works out for you and you do what makes you both happy! Smiley smile

I'm getting married 10/10/2020 in CA. And I have been stressing a lot about my wedding. I have almost everything booked except makeup, cake, and ceremony chair rentals. It just really sucks all this had to happen. I am taking one day at a time and trying to stay positive and hopeful. I am also going to wait till the end of the summer (August) to make a final decision about our wedding. The thing is, I really don't know what to do. My heart says to just postpone the whole wedding til next year and not have this stress on me, but I also really want to get married on our original date. We could have a small backyard wedding on our date and then just postpone the reception to next year, but I'm afraid I might not like that and not want to split them. I just wanted everything to happen all on one day. So I'm conflicted on what to do too. Just gotta wait and see...

Hi Jessica! Did your wedding venue give you a date or deadline that you need to make your decision by? The situation and local guidelines are still changing so quickly, it would definitely be nice to monitor things for a few months before making a final decision!
